Chapter 2
"I think we should go to Monatana." I told everyone. They seemed sort of shocked that I came up with a plan so quikly. "We have to go somewhere and I think we should go to Monatana. Anyways. We need to come up with a code for if we need to talk but can't tell anyone else." So we spent the next hour or so discussing it. Soon we all could say pretty much everything we needed to. After wards Amie and Xavier were playing Tic-Tac-Toe right behind me, on my bed. Amie and Chrystal (had to change her name for some reasons) and Xavier and Mason shared beds. I had the guy at the front desk give us an extra cot for me to sleep on. After a few hours we all decided to get some sleep.
Knock Knock Knock! "I've come to clean the room!" A cheery voice called out. Barely awake I opened the door and a cheery lady dressed in a hot pink t-shirt and jeans, walked in and told us that there was a breakfast downstairs. We all headed downstairs and grabbed some of the biscuits and gravy and some coffee. "We need to get some stuff." I told everyone. "So we're gonna go shopping today." We finished eating. I had about 300 dollars left. We went to the little shops across the street. I noticed that they had a little shop called the new you. We decided to check it out. It was set up into sections. I personally preferred the camo section. Amie wanted to wear a pink little rhinestone outfit but I managed to convince her to change her mind to a pink camo outfit. We all bought two pairs of camo clothes, and then got a few pairs of jeans and t-shirts. Then we went to the hiking area and each bought a large backpack, some pocket knives, and we each got a box of matches. We checked out and now we were down to $125. We went to the little grocery store and got hot dogs, apples, pears, banana's, granola bars, water bottles, and some ice cream cones for us all. We ate the ice cream as we walked to a clearing behind a building. After taking a running leap we jumped up and flew north-east to Montana. We flew for about eight hours before stopping. Amie looked like she was about to fall asleep in the air and Xavier wasn't much better. Even I was tired. We landed in some trees. We settled down in the branches for the night. We slept until late morning early afternoon the next day. I woke up with a start when I heard gun shots. "You'll stay off my property!!!" I heard a deep man's voice yell. At the lab I had learned to fight. by watching them train the guards. The animal human mixes. Like wolves, bears, even some dogs, mountain lion, leopard, all sorts of different animals. I slipped out of the tree and the others woke up. They followed me. We all walked lightly. Not making a sound. We found a clearing with a cabin in the middle. We heard something crash and a teenage boy ran out. He was panicking. He raced over to our hiding spot and I grabbed his arm before he ran past. He looked like h was about to scream so I clamped my hand over his mouth. He noticed that we weren't adults and nodded to me in a way that said 'Okay I won't scream.' I took my hand off his mouth and motioned for him to follow us. He walked quietly behind me as we made our way back to the tree with our stuff in it. "You can talk now." "I didn't want to break into his house. I just needed some food." Just then Amie jumped out of the tree. She must have stayed behind. She had her wings extended. The boy looked shocked. Then slowly he extended a wing. It was dark black. His feathers were glossy. We all slowly extended our wings and he relaxed. We were starting to make a habit of this whole wing things. The new boy seemed to be around the same age as me. I was 15, Chrystal and Mason were 14, Xavier was 10, and Amie was 6. He nodded at us. "You have two choices here. Join us or go on your own way." I had expected him to choose to go on his own way but surprisingly he chose to go with us. "I don't want to head off on my own anymore." He said motioning behind him. "Especially after all that." I nodded. We all grabbed out bags. "What's your name?" I asked the new boy. "Jayden." He said. I nodded. We ran and took off. Still on our way to Montana.
