Chapter 4
After school we went to the diner and ordered milkshakes to celebrate that we survived our first day of school. We were all laughing really hard about how I had drop kicked a jock during P.E.
Flashback
"Class, Today we had four new kids." Coach Davenport said. "Introduce yourself." She barked towards us. "I'm Arrow..." I was inturrupted by a rude jock who started laughing and making imitations of an arrow being shot from a bow. "Look Jerkface! Just because my name is Arrow doesn't mean I'm weird enough to hang out with the like of you." I said getting in his face. Jayden tried to pull me back but I was on the war path. He backed off seeing the fire dancing in my eyes. It happened only once before. Earlier today. Anyways back to Mr. Jerkface. "Whoa babe, I didn't mean anything by it." I kicked his legs out from behind him and placed my foot on his throat before he could say anything else. "I ain't no ones 'babe'" I said using air quotes. "Don't even think about me as yours!!" I practically growled into his face. He simply nodded. Completely shocked and unsure what to think.
END OF FLASHBACK
We laughed as Jayden did an exact copy of Jerkface's face (lol) when he had my foot pressed up against his neck. I felt someone glaring at me and turned around. There was Jerkface himself. He saw Amie and Xavier and then snapped a pic of me and Jayden then one of Amie and Xavier. I reached up and grabbed his phone. Snapping it in half I looked him in the face. "I don't need all sorts of wrong rumors. These are my siblings. Not my kids." I said to him and glared. He turned and ran away just as his friend snapped like 3 pics of me and all of my flock. Then he ran off. I rolled my eyes and turned back to look at the flock. "We should go." I paid for our shakes and we walked up the road to the tiny library. Chrystal wanted to get some audio books and I felt like finding a book to read in whatever spare time I could find. We walked in and on the top of a shelf I saw a picture of a girl with wings and a sign that said "Maximum Ride Series" I walked over and picked out the whole series. This looked interesting. Amie got a few picture books and Chrystal got one or two audio books. I had read her the descriptions. I made a library account for us and we headed home. Once we arrived I felt the fire burning in my eyes all over again. Jerkface and a whole big group of different school kids were having a party in our front yard. I walked over to everyone. "YOU HAVE TO THE COUNT OF THREE TO GET OFF MY PROPERTY!!" I yelled. Everybody scattered and I punched the Jerkface right in the nose. I felt it crack under my fist and smiled. "Now LEAVE!" I yelled. He left and we went inside. The door is still locked and I'm happy that nobody had broken in.
