Sam was now an elderly man. He had retired ages ago and was enjoying his long retirement. Then things started to get weird. Things were appearing then disappearing, people's voices were not what they used to be, and the sky was now a neon purple. Sam just ignored this and blamed the wierdness on his old age. Amy then mysteriously vanished, and this put Sam into a state of sadness. Sadness ruled his life until he was in his death bed. Then he died with sadness in his mind.
