Chapter 4- Unexpected guest

 

Classes will end soon, I'll see Mark later, which left me thinking that its like the first day of school and Mark and I are acting like lovers. Haha, thinking that my best friend will turn out to become my boyfriend. Speaking of boyfriends he had a lot of girlfriends in the past, because he's handsome, charming, kind and honest and yet quite a playboy that made me stay with him with just friends since high school ,but he never gave me even a hint back then that he actually likes me ........or did he lied?

Lied? I mean if he actually likes me since we were young then why did he had a lot of girlfriends? He knows I don't like liars! And it's really rare for me to forgive one. Did he even thought of me as his best friend? How could he? I need answers.

Class ended and I was heading back to our apartment. But a voice catches my attention.

"Lucy!" A voice called from my back. I looked at her and she was one of my best friends in high school, Samantha but I just call her Sam. She was running towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Sam! How are you? I've missed you so much!" I said while hugging her back.

"I'm fine. I was looking all over to find you!" She says, smiling at me

"Why?" I told her out of curiosity.

"Oh... Because when I told you I was going to study in a different school I was expecting a coarse that I wanted and it turns out that the closest veterinary medicine only has it in this school." She told me while she was smiling like she's so proud of herself.

"So? You came to me because?" I know where this is going. I just want her to tell me directly.

*sigh* "I came to you because I went to this school not knowing that its so far and now its dark" she was saying while having a sad look on her face. But that never fooled me!

"In other words?"

"Can I sleep at your house tonight?"

*chuckles* "It would have been better if you just told me the first minute we met." I said laughing at her. And caused her to laugh with me.

I know that Mark is in the apartment but it would be good that Sam is here so that I wouldn't have to do the 'payment' he was talking about. Like seriously he just cooked me bacon!

We are heading to the apartment while I was explaining to Sam that I was living with Mark.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait! So you two are living in the same room?! With that playboy?!!" She yelled, and I nod he is a playboy but I think he changed now.

"And he confessed to you? And you also like him? I thought you two are best friends?" Those questions made me move backwards. Also being confused.

"........I'm still figuring that out." I told her while looking down not wanting to look in her eyes.

"Well, how is it so far?" She told me with a joking manner. Trying to make me smile.

"We just kissed!" I yelled, getting annoyed.

"Just kissed? Haha! Lucy, you just kissed? How could you even resist that face of his? Well not only face, come on his everything is perfect. But the playboy you never even thought he was. " She warned once more, that he's a playboy but.

"He changed." I told her trying to let her know that he doesn't act the same when we were high school.

"Fine, but I warned you Lucy. I don't wanna see you cry again just because of a guy" ah... She made me remember again.

I nod acting to be strong.

We arrived at my apartment opening the door I saw Mark sitting in a chair in the couch.

"I'm back!" I yelled asking for attention. He looked at me and smiled.

"Welcome back. So who's your friend?" He smiled standing up and waving at Sam.

"Hi! I'm Sam, Lucy's friend in since high school." She smiles back at Mark.

"Oh so your Sam. Lucy always tells me stories about you."

"So Mark we were wondering, since it's already late today why don't we just buy food for dinner outside?" I asked interrupting their conversation because I think Lucy doesn't know what to say.

"That would be great but since I think Sam is tired, why don't we just ask for delivery? How bout pizza?" Mark said, always being thoughtful.

That would be great!" Sam yelled out of joy.

"Okay, but I like pepperoni."I told them because I really love pepperoni pizza!

"Sure." Mark said while grinning at me.

He ordered pizza. While I was changing clothes. I let Sam borrow some of my clothes because she just came here without thinking. Stupid right? But she's the kind of friend you could count on.

The pizza came and we ate it while watching a movie I didn't even notice that it was already 10pm so I cleaned up and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.I felt someone getting closer to me and held my waist. That shocked me and a chin resting in my shoulders.

"Hey, she's sleeping in your bed but why she here?" He whispers in my ear.

"I told you because she went to school..." I explained to him but he didn't let me finish.

"I know but I was planning to watch the movie just with you" he told me, still whispering with a sad, slow tune. But seriously I don't really get why people always try to deceive me while acting cute.

"Mark, stop it" I was starting to get annoyed.

"Stop what?" Said getting confused.

"Stop acting that you like me." I was explaining while it seems like a tear is about to fall from my eyes. Why would I ever cry about this?

"What? But I really like you. I told you I like you since we were young." He told me again. Here he is again saying that he likes me since we were young.

"You like me 'since' we were young?" I asked him again while gave me a nod.

"Then why did you had a lot of girlfriends before? You like me and the other girls? Why..." He didn't let me finish again and let me turn, facing him. I wasn't looking in his eyes yet felt something falling down my cheeks.

"Lucy..." He says but I didn't let him finish. I didn't wanna here what he was going to tell me.

"Don't Lucy me! You know I don't like liars! And yet you lied your just like 'HIM'..... You... You told me you would protect me back then from 'him' but your the one hurting me more."

I pushed him away before he could even speak again and rushed to the room where Sam was sleeping.
