Johnny
"Johnny you alright?",Mike asked me as we we're getting ready to perform."You know I'm good man", I said.Truth be told when I first joined "New Edition" there was a lot of tension between some of the band members and I. But now we're just like brothers."Alright let's get this thing started" ,Ronnie said. Al B.Sure just got off the stage from singing his newest hit singles like "Night and Day".
"Here we go",I said, as we began to run on the stage. The crowd was already hype for us,the first night in California was going good.
Lisa
"LISA!,is it true that your dating Micheal Jackson?!", "Jet Magazine wants to know!", a news journalist asked as I made my way backstage to the New Edition concert. I playfully rolled me eyes, "Is that right?" I giggled. Since I have some downtime from shooting "A Different World" I thought I'd come and surprise my close friend Micheal Bivens. This was their only night here in Cali and I thought I would surprise him. Backstage was a little spacious so I sat down for the most part. That is until I heard the lyrics "Growing up can be A pain" , I jetted up from the sofa. Boys to Men was one of my favorite songs from their new album. I loved how the lyrics flowed so well with Johnny's voice. I've never met him before but I was excited to hear that he had joined the group. I was a big fan of him ever since his second album "Chemistry" and his duet with Stacy Lattisaw "Perfect Combination".
Johnny
"Damn Johnny you took it to church on us out there ", Ralph said. I laughed "Hey you know how I get", I said. "Word, I thought we'd have to drag you off the stage", Ricky said. We we're heading backstage so we could change and find something to do tonight. California showed us a lot of love tonight, the crowd was hype and singing along to every song. "Hold on y'all that look like baby girl over there", Mike said. "Baby girl?", I said as Mike walked over to some girl that was sitting backstage. "Oh that's just Lisa, you know Denise Huxtable?", Ronnie said. "Ohh", I said in awe.I'd seen her a few times on "The Cosby Show" but she looks way better in person. Not to say she's ugly or anything, she has that down to earth thing going on.A women that is comfortable in her own skin is very attractive."Hey Johnny I want to introduce you to a friend of mine, Lisa this is Johnny", Mike said. I just stood there looking at her plump lips just looking at her made me want to sing. "So are you going to introduce yourself Mr.Gill?", she asked. "Johnny",I simply said trying to play it cool. "Well Johnny, my name is Lisa, Lisa Bonet " she implied while shaking my hand. We stood there for atleast thirty seconds just looking at each other. "Well Lisa!", Mike said breaking the silence " Since you're from here I figured you could show us a good time".Lisa
"I figured we could go to the Cat Club, they play good music their", I said. "Well let's jet",Mike said. We rode to the club. All the boys we're joking around the whole time.Me and Johnny we're cutting up.He's such a sweetheart, we learned a lot of things about each other that we would'nt see in interviews."Well that was fun", Johnny said. "It really was", I said. Johnny had volunteered to bring me home since all of the boys found them a floozy to take back to the hotel. But not Johnny we vibed together the whole night."So when can we meet up again?", He asked. "Well tomorrow I leave for Atlanta to start shooting season 2 for my show", I said. "Well we're going to Washington next but I'll make sure me and you keep it touch", He smiled. "Of course" I said.
