Johnny's POV
Everybody showed up to support my first official album release party in years. Celebrities like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, even Patti Labelle were here to help me celebrate. "And here I was two years ago burning up the charts in New Edition, now I'm here celebrating my own album", I said. I was making a toast to my accomplishments.
"It really has been a blessing that I've came this far, thank you all for coming out and helping me celebrate, now let's party! ", I exclaimed as I walked off the stage. I wasn't really in the partying mood tonight because Lisa wasn't here to celebrate with me. She was busy filming for a movie she was playing lead in. I made my way over to the bar for a drink. "Nice Speech", someone behind me had said, I turned around and seen Ava.
Ava was a ....... good friend .. yeah I guess that's the best way to put it from back when me and the guys we're shooting our music videos from the Heartbreak album. She was more of an industry girl. A video girl/model that was always on every scene not sure why I'm even surprised to see her here. We knocked the boots a few times, but as soon as we were about to make it official she became too possessive.
"What's up Ava?", I asked all nonchalant. I ain't gone lie an say she wasn't looking good cause shawty was looking kinda fly. "Oh nothing, I was in town for MC Hammer's new video and I heard that Mr.Johnny Gill was gonna be out here cutting up!", she exclaimed.
We sat at the bar for about two hours catching up on old times. It's crazy how when you haven't seen a person in so long everything starts to come back all at once. Especially feelings. "So JG, I was wondering if you would want to come back to my hotel room so we can reminisce on some other things", she said seductively. I was hesitant at first, I knew getting back in the sack with Ava would only cause me trouble but oh well.
As we were walking out I seen Ronnie and Mike in the corner in VIP, I wanted to let them know I was heading out for the night. While me and Ava were at the bar Mike was watching the whole scene play out, he knew Ava didn't mean Johnny any good. But you can't tell a grown man shit especially not Johnny. "Alright y'all boys I'll see y'all in a couple days for rehearsals", I said.
New Edition were asked to perform at the Soul Train Awards this year so we had to make sure we were on point. Mike gave Ava the most nastiest look, like he seen the devil in her. "Alright Johnny, but you sure you know what you doing man?", he whispered while eyeing Ava up and down. He knew what type of shit Ava had put Johnny through years before she was a wolf in sheeps clothing. Johnny laughed "Man I got this", he said as he left out the building. Mike looked over at Ronnie and just shook his head. If only Johnny had listened to Mike he wouldn't be in mess that was soon to begin.
