"Go fucking kill yourself then!"
These five words kept echoing inside her tiny head. She was still dizzy after Kanato's visit. Her eyes swooped towards the small metal object on her bedside table, a small razor Laito gave to her. Her hand reached out to it, but she hesitated. Did she really want to die? She said it so easily and he dared her to do it, but- she just couldn't. Her hand got pulled back. Doubt, sad and lonely. Those three words described her.
Her eyes flashed towards the clock, a tight grip formed around her hearth. Almost 19:30, dinner with the vampires. Reiji hated if anyone was late, especially her because she was an easy target. She stood up and walked towards the mirror. It wasn't she was going to impress anyone, but looking decent was still important. Her eyes averted, she didn't want to see herself for too long. A quick glance was all she needed. She straightened her hair and headed towards the door. Her hand hesitated - again - of opening the door. Even though she has been here for quite a while, being in the same room with all of them. It may seem cowardly, but she knew she wasn't some kind of hero. It could maybe be her last time walking down these godforsaken stairs.
She snapped out of her thoughts and opened the door, stepped into the hallway, luckily Laito was nowhere to be found. Walking towards the stairs, she could hear a faint moaning sound coming from the other end of the hall, Laito's room. Looks like he isn't going to join dinner tonight. She paced up her speed and quickly walked downstairs, headed towards the dining room. The smell of the freshly made dinner hung in the hall. She had to admit, the food was good, extremely she might add. It would be nice living in such a beautiful mansion, if the others weren't such horrible creatures.
"Ah Yui, you're already here. Take a seat." Her head snapped up, seeing the familiar face of Reiji. Her eyes looked around, not seeing the other vampires around.
"Looks like I'm first to arrive," she mumbled quietly.
"Indeed you are," Reiji replied. She felt confused somehow about the fact that his way of speaking wasn't filled with annoyance and impatience. And that he was glad that she could join them, like she didn't have a choice tho. She took her place at the end of the table, while Reiji sat on the complete opposite side. Leaving a great distance between them. Her eyes hungrily looked at the food before her, but didn't dare to touch it since it was impolite to eat before the others have arrived. So she just sat there, awkwardly. A few minutes have passed, but no one has arrived and she hasn't spoken a word. The only sound were the weird noises her stomach occasionally made. She was starving.
"If you're that hungry, you can already start," he mumbled. His eyes were focuses on a book that was spread before him. She hesitated for a bit. Since Yui didn't really trust Reiji after all he has tricked her with. His sadistic nature still lured under his butler-like appearance.
"Go on. I didn't put anything in there. It's just normal food." His eyes slowly gazed onto her, his dark pink eyes observed as she slowly took some food on her porcelain plate. Her slim fingers grabbed the silver cutlery. The cold metal against her warm soft skin formed a great contrast, which reminded her of their touch.
"Aren't you going to eat?" she asked, slowly enjoying her roast beef and the salad. She bit into a piece of cucumber. The crunchy sound filled the room. Luckily there was no tension in the air.
"I don't think I'm feeling the crave of eating this." Her hearth stopped. Her eyes slowly looked towards Reiji. He was still reading whatever it was about.
"And I'm not craving for your blood, if that's why you were worrying about. Just enjoy your meal." The sudden kindness of Reiji felt really surprising but also comforting. A smile formed on her face. Yui gladly ate her meal.
