Sarah's POV:
"Let's set up camp over there" my dad called out, I looked over at Beth, my dads friend and my face changed, I turned away not wanting to think about her but it just made me even more sad, I miss my mom, or something like that.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, I knew it was Lily's because it felt perfect, "it's okay, I can tell you miss her but it will be okay" she whispered. A tear fell down my cheek and I turned around, wiping my face. "Thanks" I said with a weak smile. "So where should our tent go?" Lily's eyes widened. "You know the place where we sleep so no animals eat us alive" she giggled.
"It is okay if we share a tent, right?"
"Y-yeah totally, and I think it should go over there." She pointed out.
"Perfect" I replied.
After we finished setting up the tent, my dad had started the fire. I got upset when I saw my dad and Beth were sharing a tent as well, so I walked towards the water and picked up a stone, skimming it across the water.
"C'mon, come with me" I heard lily say.
I followed her to a tree stump, a little bit further down, as I sat with her she looked up into my eyes. "I know your sad, but sar she won't replace your mom."  She said putting her hand on top of mine. "That's the thing she really can't because I've never met her. I'm just worried people will forget I even had a mom, my dad seems to"
And then suddenly lily pulled me into a hug.
I was shocked at first but then settled into her shoulder. "Thank you" I whispered.

Lily's POV:
After a few hours of roasting marshmallows and listening to Sarah's dad try to impress Beth and get Sarah to like her, it was getting pretty late. I yawned and Sarah got the message.
As we both climbed into the tent I laid back onto the covers and let out a deep breath.
"I'm so tired" I quietly said.
As we both jumped under the covers.
"good night lily."
"Night Sarah"
-
In the morning I woke up to Sarah's arms wrapped around me, I didn't hesitate, I just stayed there enjoying her touch. As Sarah woke up she immediately jumped, "I-I'm sorry I didn't meant to" I grabbed her face.
"It's okay, I liked it"
I said while pushing our lips together, it was passionate, but heated, before it could go anywhere else I stopped it and realised what I had just done, all these thoughts ran through my head "what if she never talks to me again.
"Stupid. Stupid. Stupid"
My breathing began heavy and I felt like I was gonna pass out, I got out of the tent and started to run, run home.
