Friendship

Dedicated to Cate, a childhood friend that I always looked up to and will never, ever forget.
So one rainy night
I was resting in bed
Dreaming the dreams
Inside of my head
The dream is about my pets
And the things I could be
But I would never forget
That one person I see
I looked to the right
To see standing there
With her blue eyes
And brown, shoulder length hair
She gave me a grin
Like she never moved away
And our friendship never ran thin
So she was here to stay
We were playing in the yard
Like in the past
And like all dreams
Time went fast
So when I listened
My mother's voice
Came out of the sky
A few tears of mine glistened
It was time for goodbye
And though she was no longer in this place
And I ate breakfast with sorrow
I could imagine her face
Saying, "Let's hang out again tomorrow."

This poem is about a real dream I had. Cate was a role model to me, even though we were only a few years apart. One day, without saying goodbye, Cate moved away. We lost touch, I don't even know if she remembers me. But I will always remember her.
