Jupiter sits up quickly to the loud crying of Hope. It had been a year since everything went down in those dreadful woods. He could never forget Willa but he was trying to keep it together for little Hope. He stands slowly walking to the baby monitor and cutting it down. He then walks to Hope's room, stumbling over varies objects in the room; lifting her up slowly "oh what is baby?" He whispers sleepily barely even keeping his eyes opened. "Do you want to sleep with daddy?" He whispers rubbing her back. She calms and she lays her head on his shoulder sniffling clinging to his shirt the way a baby cub would to a mother bear. He shushes her softly rubbing her "it's okay you can sleep with me" he whispers "just for tonight." He walks back to his room laying down. He lays her down on his chest closing his eyes. He rubs her back softly and kisses her head.
The cat who Jupiter had named black heart because there was a heart shape in her fur on her chest, hops on the bed stretching its neck out to investigate the creator of the terrible noise. Hope opens her eyes slowly looking at the curious creature. Hope slowly reaches out and she places a hand on her nose. Black heart purrs and she rubs against her hand. The vibration scares her and she starts crying loudly.Juptier awakes to the sound of crying again. He sees black heart on the bed and he sighs "get off black" he says softly lifting up hope. He kisses her head softly "shh baby she was just curious." He stands softly and h.e rocks her walking to the living room. He figured he might as well stay up, it was almost six anyway. He goes to the living room. He turns on the TV to the morning news so he could hear it as he made Hope's breakfast.
He makes her formula as the news goes through the same morning routine. Then something caught his ear. A young girl has gone missing, she was walking home from school and she never made it back. This makes the tenth missing person this month. He looks at the news and he sighs "what is going on." He shakes up the formula in a bottle. He looks down at Hope "your never leaving my sight little one." He whispers placing the bottle beside her mouth so she would open her mouth. He feeds her softly rocking her. "It's bad enough that you have to grow up on me." He whispers at her "your gonna grow up and leave me all alone with the silly cat." He kisses her head softly.
Hope just stared up st him with big round violet eyes, they were her mother's eyes. More and more everday she starts to look like her mother. Her little baby fuzz was starting to grow in the light tint of red. It pained him how much she looked like her but it didn't effect the amount of love and attention he gave to her. Hope is everything he has now and she goes first in everything. Without little hope Jupiter may not be here today.
He smiles softly rubbing her back singing to her softly. She always seemed to calm when he sung to her. He kisses her head. He looks at the tv where they show all of the pictures of the missing people in the city. He sighs and he walks over sitting down on the couch. "I don't know what's going on Hope." He whispers "this has never happened before." He talks to Hope because he had no one else to talk to. He didn't socialize anymore, his daily routine starts with calling the babysitter- which was an sweet old lady down the street-, going to work and then coming back home. He doesn't go out to bars with friends, he hardly ever hangs out with his friends. The only one he really hangs out with is Henry. Who is his best friend and is great with kids. The only downfall is when Henry and Jupiter go out taking Hope to the park people think their together.
