Everyone who was once mingling and dancing and singing and just outright having fun had quickly grown dead silent. The crowd had parted in half and Beau, Andy, and I were standing right at the end where the crowd had been divided. I nervously looked down at my shoes as I waited for all the whispers to commence which would signal that my father had arrived.

I could feel Beau's arm wrap around my shoulder and him pulling me to his side as a sign of comfort. Welp, I bet Andy is probably pretty jealous right now, I thought as I basked in the warmth of Beau's convenience.

"It's okay, Luce, y'don't have to be that nervous, y'know," Oh, I know, Beau, but, you don't know what relationship my father and I–

My thoughts were cut off as I heard the crunch of leaves under someone's footsteps. The whole pack had started to whisper to one another as my father walked down the middle of the crowd. I wouldn't dare to look up but as I kept my steady stare on my shoes I saw the tops of black leather combat boots stop right in front of my all-black Converse. Oh, hell no.

"Lucille, look at me," My father's deep, chilling voice caused a shiver to run down my spine. I looked from the corner of my eye to see some of the pack members staring at me with disgust evident in their eyes. I know what they are thinking by just looking at their disdainful expression.

'What a disgrace, she can't even look at her own father. She should be lucky since she's the Alpha's daughter and gets everything she wants. What is she gonna do, cry to her mom? Oh yeah, that's right, she's dead.' Those were the least extreme things that they said, trust me, they've said worse.

"Look. At. Me. Lucille." My father strained out. I could feel anger radiating off him as he stood in front of me. His shadow loomed over me as I stood standing and slowly lifted my head up. My eyes connected with dark, black eyes filled with so much emotion that overwhelmed me. I could see a small smirk curl on his lip as he noticed the fear in my eyes. I huddled closer to Beau and immediately my father's head snapped to where Beau was standing right next to me.

"Boy," He registered Beau coldly. "Get your hands off my daughter. You have a mate, don't you? Go hold them instead of my daughter, she has her own mate, don't you, Lucille?" I wonder who pissed him off today because, goddamn, he is colder than the glaciers in Antarctica.

"I'm sorry, sir," Quickly, I felt the warmth of Beau's body gone and heard his feet shuffle as he went to stand next to Andy.

"You know, I've always been thinking of exiling you from our pack. You're a disgrace to werewolves since you won't even have children and further your own bloodline. What are you gonna do? Adopt a human child? Disgusting." He snarled. "I'm surprised that I even let you two stay in this pack. I wonder what had gotten the best of me. Perhaps, rather than exiling you...I should kill you instead."

"Dad," I say. His eyes lock onto mine and I become paralyzed as everyone stared at me like I'm from Mars. "D-dad, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Today is finally the day that the whole pack can get together and be happy and find their mates. And, I don't know if you remembered, but, today's my birthday so..." I mumbled that last part as I continued to play with the hem of my frayed sweatshirt.

"The girl's right, sir," Bro, you know my name. "Today is finally the first time that we can all be together as a pack and have a good time. We also have the Blood Moon pack arriving soon, sir, so it will be a great way to meet new wolves and have new allies."

"Ah, is that so, Jason?" He asked as he pouted. A mischievous glint in his dark eyes was evident as he spoke. "Well, for the packs sake I shall ease up on the killing today, right, Lucille?"

What. In. The. Actual. Hell?! How am I supposed to respond to that?!

All I did was give a slight nod as I kept on staring down at my shoes. I could just imagine his lip curling into a satisfied grin before he turned to the rest of the pack. He held out both of his arms and smiled at everyone before speaking.

"Well, everyone, you can carry on with what you were doing," Everyone had just stood there and I could see that my father's eyebrows were furrowed as he looked to see no one had begun speaking again. "That was an or–"

"ALPHA!" The Gamma, Ben White, yelled as he ran frantically towards my father.

"What is it now?!" My father snarled.

"The Rose Blood pack has invaded our territory, sir."

Oh, no.
