I stared down the man who spoke to me... his voice struck me into a silence, his appearance freezing me into place. He look exactly as I remembered, even though it had been almost four years. Not a single thing had changed about him; not one thing. I continued to stare; watching as he turned to look at me. His face contorted into a brief shock, his body moving to take a step forward; one step, and not a single more. With that one step I pulled myself upright, my eyes shaking; trying hard to focus on his own. It... it really was him... after all this time... I found him again... his face fell, a lame expression I remembered well covering his features, teeth showing as always. How they didn't dry out and hinder his speech is beyond me.
"Who are you? You shouldn't be in here."
"Who..."
"I can see your attire. You shouldn't be here. This is a place for higher ups only you know?"
"I... was let in here..."
All my mentality had left me... I couldn't make a coherent response...hell, even my voice came out in a quiver...
"Let in? People aren't just let in here. How stupid can you be, really? State your purpose!"
I fell back lightly at his words... why... was I here? Why had every word I've ever learnt fallen out of my head?!
"Uh... I..."
"Dammit... get out of here will ya? ..."
His voice was harsh as he turned his gaze away from me, the back of his head being the only thing visible. Had he... just completely disregarded me?!
"Excuse me?"
"I said get out."
Not a single muscle shifted when he stated that. He truly didn't care... I felt my finger nails dig into my palms, anger washing over me. He didn't remember me?! After everything we went through?! After he sentenced me to this place and made me work my ass off just to meet him again?! My jaw clicked as I saw him twitch the tiniest of a fraction. That didn't matter to me right now though. I... was... pissed...
"Just to make you aware; I was allowed access here by a higher up. Captain Ukitake had granted me permission."
"Yeah? And where is Captain Ukitake now?"
"Outside of the gate."
"Captain's don't just let subordinates in here willy-nilly."
"Then I guess I'm not a willy-nilly circumstance."
"No? Then prove it!"
He turned on me suddenly, a sword drawn that I was all too familiar with. That was... what he killed that hollow with... what... he sent me here with... but, this time the blade was directed at me! It never wavered, the tip plunging down at me in an aggressive attack. I quickly drew my own Zanpakuto, my raven blade colliding with his own silver one in a golden frenzy of sparks. With one hard push I forced the flat side of my blade against his, throwing him back. With a quick backflip he regained his composure, flash-stepping to my right. I took little chance to block his attack, the colliding of metal piercing my ears. I pressed my left palm onto hilt of my blade, holding its position steady. I glided my palm upwards, the raven blade turning darker in tone as my fingers danced up towards the tip. Small inscription written in ivory followed my fingering until I reached the end of the blade.
