"Come on Sabrina," Mrs.Conner said as she took my hand.
I was being taken to a new foster home for the sixth time in the last two months.
"Please try not to melt anything," she said just as she knocked on the door.
"I don't know how it happens" I said looked at her.
"Sabrina honey I know your sick of being passed around but if you keep this behavior up your going to be sent to a place much worst" she said as the door opened.
"Mrs. Conner this must be..." The woman started.
I was use to this part.
"I'm Sabrina Gray and I'm ten years old," I said as I sat my small bag down.
"Oh your only ten I thought you were like six," the woman said.
"She's very small for her age," Mrs. Conner said with a smile.
"Well I'm Kathie," the woman said "but you can call me mom.
"No use you will sent me back in a couple weeks," I shrugged.
"Thank you Kathie," Mrs. Conner said as she left.
I watched Mrs. Conner leave just like she has for the last nine years and yes that's how long I've been in this foster care system.
"Would you like to tell me about yourself?" Kathie asked.
I just shook my head.
"Not a big talker I guess" she said as she picked my bag up.
"I'm small not weak!" I yelled as I took my bag from her.
"Okay" she said as I followed her to my room.
I sat down on my bed after she left. I pulled my bag up onto the bed and took my note out that my mom left me it was information about my father but it wasn't anything that would help me track him down or anything. I looked at the picture of my dad that was in the note.
"I need to find you daddy," I whispered to the picture before returning to my bag.
I placed my bag on the floor and laid on the bed and looked up at the glowing ceiling.
I shut my eyes and fell asleep.
*week later*
"I'm sorry!" I cried as my bag and I were tossed out the door.
"Sorry won't bring back my collection" kathie yelled as she slammed the door.
My guess was she didn't call Mrs. Conner yet so I took upon myself to walk alone for once.
I didn't get far though because Mrs. Conner pulled up next to me.
"Sabrina get in." She said as she rolled down the window.
I had a choice run or get in the car. I choice to to run.
"Sabrina Gray!" I heard Mrs. Conner yell but I kept running faster and faster knowing that if I slowed down she would catch me and it would be off to her office to get relocated and I didn't want to be rehomed not again.
I looked back and seen her car driving real fast too and that when I ran into someone a paramedic to be exact.
"Whoa are you okay?" He said as he helped me up.
I nodded now knowing that an adult had caught me and I was being returned to Mrs. Conner.
"Thank you so much" Mrs. Conner said as her stopped the car and walked over and grabbed me.
"Ow" I cried.
"Lately Sabrina you have been just rotten. I don't know what's wrong with you but it better stop." She said.
"Your hurting me" I yelled.
"Hey she's just a kid," the man said.
"If you knew this little girl the way I do you would agree" she said shoving me into her car.
He just stood there.
"Look thank you for stopping her," Mrs. Conner said as she got into the car.
I looked out the window at the man and watch as she pulled away.
*at Mrs. Conner's office*
"Hello?" She said as she answered her phone.
Then she handed me the phone and turned back to the computer.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Hello is this Sabrina Gray?" The man said.
"It is" I said slowly. "Who's this?" I asked.
"My name is Mohinder Suresh I found you name on a list of my fathers and I'm not sure if it's right since your only ten." He said.
"A list?" I asked.
"Yes has anything weird happened to you." He asked.
"Yes.." I said slowly.
"Okay I'm going to find you and help you okay sweetie?" He said as he hung up.
I sat the phone down and the next thing I knew someone was at the door. Mrs.Conner opened in and an Indian man walked in.
"Can I help you?" Mrs. Conner asked.
"Is Sabrina here?" He asked.
"She is" Mrs. Conner said.
"Are you Mohinder?" I asked.
"I am" he said as she bent down to my level.
"Are you here to help me?" I whispered.
"Yea" he said with a smile.
"Ok.." I said as he stood up.
"Can I foster her?" He asked.
"Honestly at this point I don't care" she said tossing him my bag.
"No paper work" he asked.
"I won't tell if you don't" she said as she opened her door.
I followed Mohinder out of her office hoping it would be the last time.
"Can I please have my bag?" I asked.
"Of course," he said as he handed me my bag.
We walked for a while before we got to his apartment.
"It's not much but it's home," he said as he opened the door.
I followed him in.
"So what's been going on" he asked as he had me take a seat across from him.
"I set things on fire," I said
"Can you show me?" He asked
"Promise you won't sent me back" I said.
"Yup" he said.
I looked at him and then at the cup on the table and then I brushed my hand across the cup and then put my hand on it and held it there until it burst end into flames.
"Wow!" He said as he put the small fire out.
"I'm sorry" I said as I started to cry.
"It's okay Sabrina don't cry" he said as he put his hand on my shoulder.
"I don't know why I can do it" I said as I whipped my tears away.
"Your special Sabrina" he said with a smile.
"How I just destroy people's stuff" I said.
"It's an ability you were born with you cant help it and your young you will learn to control it I promise," he said as he wrote down stuff on a note book.
"I'm a freak Mohinder" I said.
"No Sabrina your special. There are others like you." He said as he looked up at me.
"Really?" I said with a smile.
"Yeah they have different abilities but they are special just like you" he said.
I just sat there with a dumb smile on my face it felt good to know I was not the only one out there that had and ability.
