"Peter that orientation was horrible" I said as he put his shoes on.
"It wasn't that bad" he said as I sat next to him.
"The people there we definitely judging me because of my age" I said.
"Your smarter than they are" Peter said as he stood up.
"It's a curse" I said as I hopped off the bed.
"No it's not" he said as he wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"Sometimes it is" I said as i leaned my head back.
"How about we go get some breakfast before you got to college" Peter asked as he spun me around so I was facing him.
"Okay." I said as we grabbed our stuff that we needed for the day.
We ate breakfast and then headed to NYU.
I looked at Peter as we arrived at NYU.
"It's just like high school" he said.
I looked down and took a deep breath. I was unsure with the college thing and everyone who knew me knew I was unsure about it but also everyone I know went to college. I'm a sixteen year old hopping into college and that scared me more than an eleven year old hoping into high school.
Peter lifted my head up and held my face and looked into my eyes and then did something I didn't expect... He kissed me!
"Feel better?" He asked as a smile spread across my face.
I nodded which made him smile.
"Meet me at the hospital after school?" He asked.
"Yup" I said as I hugged him.
"Have fun Sabrina it's college just not to much fun" he said.
"Okay" I said as he kissed the side of my head and then got into the cab and left.
I watched the cab drive down the street until I couldn't see it anymore.
I headed toward the main building where my English class was.
I sat in the back of the classroom next to a random girl.
"Hi I'm Judy" she said as she extended her hand.
"Hi I'm.." I started.
"Sabrina Gray I know" she said.
"Oh?" I said as I took my notebook out.
"Everyone knows about you" she said with a smile.
"They do?" I asked.
"Yea watch" she said as she tapped the girl in front of us. "Do you know who this is?"
The girl nodded and then turned around.
"See. Man your so lucky got your life all figured out" Judy said resting her head on her hand.
"How so?" I asked.
"Your dating a guy with a stable job and a stable home not to mention your sixteen and in college" she said.
"So that doesn't mean anything " I said as I shrugged.
"What are you here for?" She asked.
"I don't know yet" I said as I started writing notes down.
"Really?" She asked.
I nodded.
After an hour of taking notes we were sent to our next class and just my luck Judy had it with me in fact I had all my stupid honor classes with her.
Once school was over I practically darted out of the building.
"Sabrina wait!" I heard Judy call as she caught up with me.
"Would you like a ride" she asked.
"No I'll take a cab. Thank you though" I said stopping a cab.
"It's okay I don't have one anyway mind if we share a cab?" She said as she got in.
"Not at all" I said under my breath.
"Mohinder thank god it's you" I said.
"I get this part of town" he said.
"You know where I'm going right" I asked.
"Yes. How about you ma'am" he said referring to Judy.
"Oh with Sabrina" she said.
I rolled my eyes and sat back.
"Okay" he said as he headed toward the hospital.
"Here you girls are" Mohinder said as stopped.
Judy go out and I paid.
"Thanks Mohinder" I said as he nodded and drove away.
"You were in foster care from the time you were one til you were eleven" Judy blabbed as we walked into the emergency room.
The last time I was in here I passed out. I ignored Judy and walked up to the desk.
"Hey Max" I said with a smile.
"Oh my gosh it's a grown up Sabrina!" He said as he came around the desk and hugged me.
"Yeah here I am" I said.
"Peter said it was your first day of college. How was it" he asked as he returned to his seat.
"Okay I guess" I said.
"It was great because she met me" Judy said.
I looked at Max and sarcastically nodded.
"He's out at a hostage situation so not sure how long it will take" Max said as Peter and his partner came through the door with shot gun victim. They were yelling things that only them and the nurses and doctors knew and that's when I knew I wanted to go to college to be an emergency nurse.
"How long have you know the desk guy" Judy asked as Peter signaled me to go over there. I dropped my stuff and ran over to him.
"Put pressure here and what ever you do don't move until a nurse comes" he said as he ran out to get other victims.
"Hi I'm Sabrina what's your name" I said to the guy.
"John" he said obviously in pain.
"Hi john" I said.
"I can't die I have a family to care for" the guy said.
"You won't die" I said keeping pressure on his wound.
"How older are your kids" I asked.
"12, 8, 5, and 2" he said.
"What's there names johns" I asked as I grabbed another Gauze pad.
"Lily, Annabelle, Nick, and Tommy" he said shaking from the pain.
"Where are the nurses?" I asked looking around.
"Your not a nurse" the guy said.
"No" I said.
"I assumed you were since you were so good" he said.
"Thank you" I said with a smile as a nurse came over.
I let the nurse take over as she rolled he down to a room. I walked to the sink that Peter always uses to wash his hands.
"You talked to that guy so well Miss.." The doctor started.
"Gray" I said with a smile as I dried my hands.
"You should consider being a nurse" he said as Peter walked over to wash his hands.
The Doctor nodded and walked away.
Peter smiled at me as he dried his hands. I followed him as he went to go fill out paperwork.
"Hi Emma" I said as I walked over to her.
Emma does the hospitals files and she's deaf plus I've known her as long as I've known Max which is almost three years.
"Hi Sabrina." She said with a smile.
Peter finished his paperwork and grabbed his stuff and we walked to the lobby.
"Good job with that guy" Peters partner said as he patted my back.
"Thank you" I said as I walked over and picked up my bag.
"Good job Sabrina" Max said with a smile.
"Thank you" I said as I looked at Peter who had a proud smile on his face.
"Ready" he asked.
"Yea" I said as we walked out of the hospital.
"That was really a really good job Sabrina the whole campus will be talking about you!" Judy said as walked up behind up.
"Great" I said with a forced smile.
"May I hitch a right with y'all?" She said as the cab stopped.
I looked at Peter and then by the time I turned around she was already in the cab.
I stood on my tip toes and whispered in Peters ear to give them his moms address and that I would explain everything later. He nodded and then we got in.
"Where to?" the driver asked.
Peter told the driver where him and I were going and then Judy told the driver where she was going.
"Here you are" the driver said as we arrived at his mothers home.
"Thank you" Peter said as he paid the guy and then we watched the cab driver away before actually heading to his apartment.
"What was that about?" He chuckled.
"She's like a stalker Peter she knows almost everything about me and it's creeping me out" I said as we walked down the street.
He just shook his head and chuckled as we arrived at his apartment building.
"I know what I want to be" I said as we walked into his apartment.
"What's that?" He asked as we hung out stuff up.
"A nurse. An emergency room nurse" I said as I followed him to his room which was sorta my room too.
"you will be a great nurse" he said as he pecked my cheek and then went to the bathroom to shower.
I grabbed one of his shirt and then went to my room and grabbed a pair of shorts and got dressed.
I walked out to the kitchen pulling my hair back into a high pony tail and then grabbing the small amount of homework I had and started it.
"Homework on the first day?" He said as he joined me at the table.
"Yea but my guess is nursing school will cause me to have a lot of homework" I said as I looked at him.
"But it's worth it and you will breeze through it because your smart" he said as he reached back and played the messages from the answering machine.
"Hello Sabrina Gray this your mothers mom it's taken we so long to find you if your up to it please give me a call so we can meet your the only thing I have of my little girl. I'm in New York for the next couple days. Thank you" a lady said from the answering machine.
I slowly looked up at Peter and shook my head.
"I'm finally moving on from my dads death I can't be polled into remembering my mom" I said.
"I understand I'm not going to make you do anything you don't want to do" he said as he placed his hand on the side of my face. I put my hand over his hand and just looked at him.
"I want pizza" I said with a small smile as a knock can at the door.
Peter got up and went to the door while I stayed put at the table where who ever it was wouldn't see me.
"Does Sabrina Gray live here" I heard a girls voice asked.
"She is but she's busy at the moment" I heard Peter say.
"Please just let me see her" I heard the woman say.
I got up and walked to the door and stood beside Peter.
"Here I am" I said.
"Oh man your so grown up, your so beautiful Sabrina. Blonde hair like your mothers but you have the eyes of that Gabriel" the lady said.
"My hair is actually dark brown like my dads" I said
"Oh I'm so sorry you have his last name. I told Elena that you should have her last name but she didn't listen she ran off before you were even born and when she was dieing I told her to bring you to me but she swore that Gabe would come and get you" he said.
"Stop talking about my father like that" I said kinda sounding like my dad which is what scared me.
I felt Peters hands on my shoulders.
"Oh honey I didn't realize you had a relationship with him" she said.
"I did up until... Actually you know what I'm trying to deal with my fathers passing you your not helping me I'm sorry" I said.
"I just want to get to know you" she said
"I'm sorry. But you need to leave" I said.
"But I can all this way" she said.
"I'm sorry enjoy Manhattan it's a wonderful place" I said as I walked away.
I went back to the kitchen and and picked up Peters phone and dialed the number for the pizza place.
"Please convince her other wise" I heard the lady say to Peter.
"No" he said as I heard the door shut.
After ordering the pizza I handed Peter his phone back and started on my homework once again.*30 minutes later*
"Dinner is served" Peter said as he moved my books and sat the pizza down in front of me.
"Hey was about to write the.." I started.
"No you were you've been down with your homework for the last 25 minutes" he said as he sat down.
"Your right" I said as I took a bite of my pizza.
"I know you to well" he said as he took a bite of his pizza.
"Two years in the medical department at NYU and I'll get my certificate" I said with a smile as I finished my food.
"Yeah" Peter said "half of that could be internship and Doctor Barns will definitely take you after today. You did so well I'm proud of you. I knew handing him over to you that he would be in good hands."
I smiled as he grabbed my hand.
"What made you decide to become a nurse. Just curious" he asked.
"Watching you and everyone around me in action today made me realize I wanted to help out too and when when you called me over to help and I started talking to that guy it made me want to do it even more. Plus my dad took people's lives and I want to save them" I said with a confident smile.
He smile as I got up and took our dishes to the sink.
"I'll do them" he said as he picked me up and sat me on the counter next to the sink.
"If you insist Mr. Petrelli" I said as I watched him do the dishes.
I'm okay with how things are right now.
