You awoke in a cold sweat. Your body was aching in pain, and you were shivering. It was the same again. Same dream. Same reality. You weren't getting any better. In fact it was getting worse.
You swiftly turned in your bed, looking at your alarm clock. It was only 12:10. You had only went to bed at 11:45, so you had only slept for 25 minutes. You sighed knowing that trying to go back to sleep was utterly useless, you sat up. Silently, you put your feet on the floor and walked to your desk. You opened the drawer to your desk, and pulled out a box of matches. You grabbed one of the matches and lit it. You the put the lit stick into you cold lantern lying on your desk. The fire was warm. Just like that day. Your eyes began to water, but you didn't cry. You knew that crying had never helped you in all the years of your life. Yawning, you sat down and pulled out a couple of your geography books and began reading.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Footsteps. You heard footsteps. Slowly you put down your book, and approached your door, and opened it. You peeked your head out to the left to see nothing. Then you turned to the right, and were met with the face of your arguably devilish captain. His steel gray eyes stared down at you.
"Oh Captain it's just you. I was worried for a second." you gave your best fake grin.
"(Y.N.) why are you awake? You were up earlier, so why are you awake?" his monotone voice cold and quiet. You looked into his eyes, your (e.c.) orbs starring into his gray ones.
"I forgot to finish some maps I was working on for the islands we landed on earlier. I just wanted to complete it." That was a lie. You couldn't tell him about the nightmares you have been having. You didn't tell him. He was your captain; he wasn't your friend, but he was your captain. You didn't need to drag anyone else down, into the sad little hell hole you lived in.
Your hadn't realized that your eyes had fallen from your captain, and that he was asking you a question.
"(Y.N.)! Are you listening to me?" his voice was bit louder this time.
"Sorry, Captain. Guess I'm a little tired."
"(Y.N.)..." his voice was low and uneasy.
"Captain, I will try and got back to sleep after finish the last few maps." you had put an emphasis on, try.
"(Y.N.) please try and get some rest." his eyes starring down at you. They seemed to show a bit of worry, but you dismissed that thought.
"Yes sir!" your voice was stern, looking your captain in the eyes. He looked at you for one final time, before heading to his room. You slowly went back into your room, and shut the door. You let your body slid down the door; onto your butt, and put your hand on your face. You had just told your captain blunt lies, and probably ruined your trust between the two of you. You had started pushing your crew mates away, and now you had begun to push your captain away. How pitiful you felt. You let out a soft, sad chuckle to yourself.
Yeah. It's worst.
