Chapter One- adoption.
Carlisle's POV
- As i was driving home from my "first" day of work at Forks local hospital I began to ponder in my mind how I was going to tell my sweet darling wife, Esme, my thoughts. Working all day in the hospital, I began to realize what was missing in my eternal life. After all, I live a wealthy life style, worked with my true calling and have a beautiful wife and family.
"That's it," I thought, once i walked into the nursery at work, "I'm missing the love, curiosity, and innocence of a child." and just like that i decided to adopt a human child, one i could watch grow and learn untill they were a young adult, then change them. With the preparation they will have before the change, they will turn out as the perfect newborn, like Bella did, maybe even better because they will have a life time of preperation, not just a few years.
I drove up to the house hidden peacefully in the meadow of the forest and parked in the large garage out back. I proceeded out of the car, at human pace, because i was somewhat nervous, and began my short walk into the living room where my wife waited patiently.
"Welcome home!" was the greeting Esme gave me as I walked through the door. "How was your 'first' day of work?" she said with a giggle
It was now or never, it was the perfect time when the others were away on a hunting trip, "Actually sweetie, I would like to talk to you about that."
With that one sentence, i watched her overjoyed face immediately drop to one of concern and worry,
"Did someone recognize you? its been 100 years?! No one should be alive but the pack!" she rambled on and on about her frantic worry until i but in suddenly
"NO! Esme, Sweet Esme, I just miss the presence of a child! I would like to adopt, like you just said, our youngest is already about 100 years old, and it would be nice to have the spirit of a child around again, and to watch them grow, like Nessie, but slower."
After a second of pause, Esme's face was abright again as she spoke in a soft voice
"I was going to tell you the same thing as soon as you were relaxed after work! When can we get a child? I would love a girl! Will we change here? at what age?"
She rambled on and on until Alice burst through the door.
"HE ALREADY HAS ONE PICKED OUT AS SHE IS GORGEOUS!"
"you do?"
"Alice's vision is correct," I said with a chuckle "There is a darling girl at the hospital, she is orphaned, her mother died at birth, and the father 6 months ago at war, and she has no relatives. Not a soul will know she is missing."
"Can we go get her now?!?!" asked Esme
"As long as Alice can have a room set up for her in time for her arival, Alice?"
"I'm already on it! OOH Edward!!! Get Bella and Nessie, and Rose too! I need all the female vibe i can get!"
