The two men raced down the hall, their eyes darting hurriedly in every direction. One of the men glanced at a room labeled 104. They had urgent work to attend to in there. He was about to reach for the doorknob when he felt a clammy hand grip his shoulder. "Jauqué, can we go over the mission one more t-time, just to m-make sure we didn't miss anything," his partner stuttered. Jauqué glared angrily at his partner. The man was bone-thin with spiky blue hair, dark brown skin, and cat-like eyes that glowed yellow. "Fine Vosk, we can call him. But if he gets angry, it's on you," he said sharply. They walked down the hall to take cover while making the call to their master. The two headed to a tiny janitor's closet. Jauqué knew that the door to the closet would be locked, so he rolled up the right sleeve of his grey jumpsuit to reveal a watch-like device on his wrist. The face of the "watch" was oval shaped and a shiny black. As Jauqué looked down at the smooth face of the device, he saw himself. He had high cheekbones, a narrow nose, silver-white hair, and purple eyes. He cracked a smile at his reflection, revealing pointed teeth. His face was stern and full of confidence. He had faith in his preparation for this mission, but most of all, he wanted to please his master. Jauqué typed a command into the device, and slowly but surely, the inner workings of the lock shifted into position to open the door. Jauqué quickly ushered Vosk into the closet, grumbling curses and other things about wanting to get the mission over with. As Jauqué switched on the overhead light and locked the door behind them, Vosk used his own device and typed in a command. After a few chimes sounded from the "watch", a holograph of a figure shrouded in shadow filled the center of the room. As soon as it appeared , a booming, harsh voice bounced off of the walls. "What do you want", the voice bellowed. Vosk was glad that he couldn't see his master's face, because it was sure to be one that didn't show pleasure."S-s-sorry to interrupt you sir, but I just wanted to go over the mission with you one more time, just to make s-sure that I had it all m-memorized," Vosk stuttered. "Alright," sighed the master. "I will explain it but this will be the last time. I want you to locate the girl and inject her with the serum that was given to you before you left. After you inject her, make sure to study her carefully. If her body defeats the mixture, then you have found the target." " What if her body doesn't defeat the mixture? How will we be able to tell?" "Simple, she will slowly be driven mad and he body will shut down on the spot," their master said with a snicker. Jauqué suddenly cut into the conversation. "Master, what do you want us to do if she defeats the mixture and it is her?" Even though they couldn't see the man's face, they could tell it was giving off a cruel, vengeful smile. " Then kill her on the spot and wipe the memories of those that you must." And with that, the call ended and the men headed off on the most important mission of the lives.
