Mislead

Chapter. 6

Melody's POV

As I hear the chime of the entrance, I turn my head out of curiosity to see who came through the door. The last couple of times it has been either families or the odd breakfast date, but this time it's Liv and Niall. They both have a little pep in their step as they walk hand in hand toward us. God dammit Liv.

"Oh my god." I say under my breath, shielding my face and turning back towards Harry.

"What is it?" Harry asks. I use my eyes to gesture towards Liv and Niall. Harry rolls his eyes and let's out an irritated sigh.

"Hey guys!" Niall chirps while pulling up a chair.

"We just came to say hi." Liv says cheerily. "And I wanted make sure that you're alright."

"Thanks Liv." I can tell that she meant well by coming here.

"Ok Niall, let's go now." She says, turning to leave.

"Let's just stay! I'm starved anyways." Niall announces.

I glance over at Harry to find him giving Niall the biggest death glare he could possibly muster. After chatting with each other for nearly an, hour we make the decision to leave the restaurant. Once we got outside, I walk over to Liv's jeep.

"Alright, we'll see you boys later!" Liv's says while hopping into the drivers seat.

"Where are you guys going?" Harry questions as I get in the passengers side.

"We're going shopping for a little bit." I state.

"Oh."

"Waiting for an invite aren't you Harry?" Liv says slyly.

"No I was just-"

"Liv!" Her sense of humour isn't a very noticeable one, and when people do recognize it, it usually isn't their cup of tea.

"Would Niall be your plus one then?" She continues with the sarcasm. Harry looks slightly embarrassed by her remarks, but Niall isn't phased.

"Sure we'll come with you!" Niall chimes in and swings his arm around Harry's shoulder. I think that he knows she's kidding, but plays along just for fun. That or he's completely oblivious.

"Just get in the car."Liv says and both the boys' faces light up. Both of them climb into the back seats of the jeep in unison.

"Where should we go first?" I ask Liv.

"That's tough, but I was thinking Victoria's Secret." She says casually. We both look behind us at Harry and Niall, who's eyes were wide and cheeks blushing with discomfort.

"Just kidding!" Both of us let out a giant laugh.

"Let's just start at Macy's."

When we get to the mall, Liv and I start to pull away from the boys and look around at all the clothes.

"So do you like Harry or is it just kind of a friend thing?" Liv asks since Harry and Niall are far behind us.

"Yeah, I think that I like him like that. He seems like a decent person, unlike Justin." Just saying his name makes me tense up. Liv takes note of my mood and pulls me into a hug.

"Melody, it's okay. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. You're here to start fresh and forget about all of that, remember?"

"Okay." I say softly as we pull away from each other, I hear Harry's deep voice.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, we're good." Liv speaks for me, but Harry doesn't accept her answer.

"Yeah, we're fine." My voice is a little shaky as I catch tears before they fall down onto my face.

"We should go and buy this stuff now, Niall are you coming?" Liv changes the topic and breaks the ice.

"Ok, I'm coming." He says from farther behind us. I silently thank Liv for directing the attention off me and onto something else, even if the other thing wasn't important at all.

After a few more stores, we have our hands are full of shopping bags. We decided on one last store before we were going to leave the mall. Neither of us found anything so we headed towards the exit. As we walked out of the store, Liv and I both notice Harry and Niall arguing. Their faces look quite anxious and they keep throwing their arms up in the air. Both of them check their phones several times before we reach them.

"What are you guys talking about?" I say with a smile, trying to lighten the mood.

"Nothing important." Harry says before grabbing my hand.
