We Are Not Alone

The Hogwarts Express

   Dan and his mother arrived at King's Cross. Dan had all of his supplies, along with an owl. In fact, it was the same one Phil wanted. They arrived at the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10. Dan looked up at his mother expectantly, but she just shook her head and started barreling towards the wall.

   "Mum! No...!" But before he could finish, his mother hit the wall. But she went right through. Dan took a deep breath and ran (with his trolley), into the barrier.

   He ended out on the other side, and what he saw was a train. Not just any train, but the Hogwarts Express, billowing smoke. Children of all ages and their parents were bustling around. But, he could easily make out his friend's black hair and blue eyes.

   "Phil!" Dan yelled, waving at Phil. Phil looked over, and lit up. He didn't seem to be with anyone, so he ran over, and enveloped Dan in a bear hug.

   "Dan! I'm so excited! But, I'm kinda nervous, you see I talk when I get nervous..." Phil was cut off by Dan covering Phil's mouth with his hand.

   "Shhhh, we can talk on the train, you loudmouth," Dan said, making Phil shut up.  A piercing whistle was heard, and the boys and Dan's mother walked over to the train.

   "My Daniel, all grown up and going to Hogwarts. I love you, make sure to write regularly!" Dan's mother leaned down and planted a kiss on Dan's cheek. He saw out of the corner of his eye, Phil, standing by, clearly uncomfortable. He pulled away and walked over to Phil, who was about to get on the train.

   "Are you ready?" Dan asked Phil, excitedly. Phil nodded, and offered his hand. Dan gladly accepted and they got onto the train, fingers intertwined.
