Harsh Realities
I see what you refuse to know
The real world now is where I go
To and from your shadows chase
Revealing secrets in a hidden place
What you thought is never true
The water drowns and shimmers blue
Now I sit and ponder thee
What you actually think of me?
You tell me that you'll never leave
And with a laugh I think 'oh please'
You whisper that you love me dear
Like that's exactly what I wish to hear
You hug me close; say I'll lose you never
I have accepted, things don't last forever
We laugh, we kiss, we cry together
Moments precious; light as a feather
Because I know when the day is done
You will be setting with the sun
