The house was actually nice. It was bigger than the one back at home although it was the same as the other houses around the area. I stood on the lawn and surveyed the place. No one riding their bike on the road, no one playing on the lawn over at the neighbouring house. The place is just quiet and peaceful. I could live with this.

"Are you going to stand out there for the whole day. This is not going to stop you from helping me empty these boxes" My father shouted from somewhere inside.

"Coming dad" I yelled.

I walked inside the kitchen to see my dad packing out the utensils and dishes. When he saw me he pulled out the seat beside him.

"Come on and be a good girl and help me out"

He handed me a dish and a tablecloth in the process. As I was cleaning the plates I observed the kitchen. It was in my dad's favourite color, light green. It was beautiful and very spacious, just the way how he loved it. I'm starting to think that he customised it himself.

"You like it?" he asked shyly.

"Of course dad. It's beautiful and spacious" I said voicing my thoughts. "The whole house is beautiful"

"It is, isn't it"

He had a bright smile on his face. I love seeing my dad like this. Being a single dad isn't easy especially if you were young and left with a two month old baby. My dad raised me on him own at the age of 22, with the help of his parents of course. Who weren't happy at first but got use to it overtime.

As for my mom I've never seen her only heard of her. Although I was sad that she left I didn't care after a while because I had my dad and he was all I need. He was always working hard, always putting me before himself. Making sure that I had everything I wanted but then, I didn't really ask for much.

I love my dad and I make sure that I didn't make his job any harder. I was a straight A+ student who never got into trouble at my old school. That's the least I could do. After his promotion he always ask me before he did anything. I think its because he felt bad for moving away from my home, my school and my friends even though I told him its fine. I personally have no problem with it. I will miss my friends but maybe I can get a fresh start, even make new friends.

"Hey, we are almost done here" My dad's voice pulled me out of my thoughts "Why don't you go up and unpack your stuffs and get comfy?"

"Ok dad, I'll be in my room" I said getting up.

"I know. I'm the one who sent you there remember" He turned to me smiling.

"Whatever dad, call me if you need anything"

With that I went upstairs to my room. My room is bigger than the one I had back at home. It was cream with red carpet, with two doors one leading to the bathroom and the other to balcony.

I never really had a lot to unpack. I took out my laptop and placed it on the small table. I also put my pencil and pen cup on the same table. I went and put my bathroom stuffs in the bathroom cupboards. Then I arranged my make up and perfume on another small table but this one had a looking glass above it.

Now I'm sitting on my bed unpacking my clothes thinking about tomorrow.
The first day of school.
I cant decipher my emotions right now. I don't know if I should be excited or afraid. New school means new kids and I was never the one who make friends easily.

Back at my old school I only had one friend. I was never in the drama, not that I couldn't handle it, it just that they didn't bother me so why bother them. But who knows what might happen I could even get into fights. Who am I kidding. I would never do that for the sake of my father.

There was a knock on my door which pause my thoughts. I looked up to find my dad holding a box of pizza.

"I ordered pizza"

" I can see that" I said smiling.
He stepped in and sat on my bed then opened the box.

"Mmmm" We both hummed in unison, smelling the sweet aroma of pizza then laughed. I took the first slice and started eating.

"Had to take the first one, huh?" he said taking a slice.

I just answered with a grin. He shook his head at me and ate. He then took a glance around my room.

"Well, you seem to be settled in. That was quick but then again you barely had anything to unpack"

"I like to travel light. Plus it not my fault you pack like a girl"

"One of us has to"

"Very funny dad"

Then we sat in silence and ate. Not one of those awkward silence but just in comfortable silence.

"I'm going to bed" I said as soon as we were done.

"Ok" He got up taking the empty box with him then he kiss my forehead.

"Goodnight Beccy"

"Goodnight dad"

Then he left. I changed into a shorts and a big t-shirt. Then crawled into bed. I checked my phone as saw two messages. One from my best friend back in Seattle and the other from my brother both wishing luck at my new school also threatening me if I don't call them. Both of them are so alike sometimes I wonder why they weren't together. I answered both of them then drifted off to sleep with one last thought on my mind.

I hope tomorrow goes well.
