This plane ride is torturous, it is unbearably hot and too overcrowded. Let's not even talk about how long the line to even get the ticket was. The baby crying two rows behind me wasn't too annoying but the people next to me were getting on my nerves. Complaining about this and that, I'm surprised they even booked a trip together by the way they act, arguing after the complaining then repeating the cycle. Just remind yourself this vacation is worth it, the money you put in to two weeks of relaxation will be worth it. As I closed my eyes and repeated this to myself a felt a nudge on my arm. Frustrated I opened my eyes to see an old man had just hit me as he walked by, not even turning to apologize. Just stay calm this isn't the worst thing to ever happen to you. Sleep deprived I moved my tan Sun hat off my lap and folded it as neatly as I could to stuff it in my purse--also tan. I guess you could say it is my go to color besides black. As I leaned back I closed my eyes trying to drift off to sleep, waking up at 3:00 in the morning wasn't the easiest task but once again it will be worth it.

As the plane was landing I woke, it's over, the flight is over. You would never guess I hated flying, I wouldn't call it hate exactly I would call it more a fear of falling and crashing to my death. This was my favourite part, as a kid I would always lift my hands and count down hoping to land when I reached zero, I wasn't that good at estimating time. Why is it taking soon to pull up to the gate, I thought. Tapping my fingers on the arm rest I was glad I could finally get away from the guy in front of me who couldn't go an hour flight without extending his chair as far as it goes. My knees would hit the chair every time I moved. Taking off my seatbelt as soon as I landed felt some sort of reassurance that I wasn't 100% trapped in this piece of metal. As the plane finally arrived to the gate the fasten seat belt sign went off and everyone stood up at once. The mother and her baby, the guy who leaned his chair all the way back, the siblings complaining the whole time even raced to stand up. Look people we aren't getting off anytime soon, we are in the last five rows, I rolled my eyes and adjusted myself. As the plane began to empty I stood to grab my luggage that was in the overhead bin. "I hope this isn't as much of a struggle getting this out as it was putting it in" I whispered underneath my breath. I guess it could have been lot worse, but the body builder behind me could have given me a hand to make it better. The 6 foot over muscled man with military tattoos that reminds me of my cousins is just staring. Get a grip man I'm trying my best, I snapped in my head. Just remember it will be worth it, stay calm it be all worth it. As I took a breath I fixed my hot pink gym shorts I got at lake George last year and adjusted my long sleeve black shirt then I continued down the plane aisle. "Take one step at a time there's no need to rush it's like learning to fly or falling in love" I sang under my breath.

Getting through this airport was a lot harder than expected, I didn't have a phone to contact my friend Kelsey who was picking me up and I had no way to tell if I was going to right way. Just follow the crowd, I thought and headed in the direction the body builder was going. Just pretend like you know what you are doing. As I adjusted my purse I continued on to baggage claim. This isn't too bad Kelsey knows where to pick me up and at what time, I won't sit here alone for long, I reassured myself. Before grabbing my bag I headed to the nearest bathroom next to the luggage carousel, as I walked in I was greeted by a wall of mirrors. "Because I want to see myself this much once I got off a plane" I mumbled. As I got closer to the mirror closet to me I fixed my hair as it was pinned back as well as I could possibly do it. " I need to " I need to 're dye this" I said trying to fix my short--but growing-- almost blonde hair. As I moved on to popping the pimple on my chin I also might have plucked a few neck hairs that were insanely long, for a girl. The blue eyes I had were shot, I have bags under my eyes and didn't have any make up on. "Yupp this is as good as it's gonna get" I huffed while leaving the bathroom. Almost everyone had grabbed their bags already while I waited for mine to go in a circle for the fifth time, at the least. Grabbing my pink bag with magenta flowers I was ready to find Kelsey. Looking around I remembered I hadn't seen this girl in four months, she could look incredibly different. As I looked around to find a short girl with long blonde hair I realize that she was standing ing the corner. I walked, faster than normal-- as I don't run-- I dropped my bags and hugged her. Her pale skin was lighter than a ghost and her long blonde hair was now short, now framing her face. "KELSERONI!" I yelled, getting her attention she turned around and yelled back "MIBAELA" nicknames we both created freshman year of college. As I lunged at her I wrapped my arms around her and hugged with all my might. "You cut your hair" I said in her ear shocked while petting the short hair I once knew resided to the bottom of her back. "Look at you." She stated "you look amazing, you've been going to the gym" "well so have you, Damon girl you look fine." The truth was, I was going to the gym but my previous 5'4 170 pound body was just replaced to be 150 pounds, to be honest I dont look much different. I grabbed my bags off the ground and Kelsey lead me to her car. "This new york city heat has got me trifling" I said whilst putting my bag in her car. "Trust me when we get to my house this heat will be replaced with a nice cool breeze while we drink as we look at the water" she said starting the grey shark. "Oh have I missed this car" I said finally in my happy place, "this old thing still has its fin." I noticed as we pulled out. The car was grey, and had a dorsal fin looking piece of car sticking off the top, hence the name "the grey shark". The Roosevelt as if it was merely a few minutes, once getting to her ocean view house, I realised that had been an hour.
