chapter 15

Brendan's p.o.v.

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. I heard on the news it was going to be a lovely day out, so maybe me and Aubrey can go out. If she will actually listen this time.

I tipped toed into her room making sure I wouldn't wake her, because I know she's been pretty restless since she's gotten here. I think that might change though. I stared at her face and wondered how anyone could look so beautiful while sleeping, I'm so glad she's my girl, so I gave her a kiss on the forehead and quietly left the room.

I cooked some eggs over easy with crispy bacon, some pancakes, syrup, and bread, and left it on the kitchen counter.

I also left a note.

Hey my beautiful Aubrey went into town to pick up some things I hope you enjoy breakfast, love Brendan ♡

I grabbed my car keys and my jacket and headed straight out the door. Once I had gotten into town I saw the most beautiful jewelry and bought this lovely necklace with an Opal shaped As a heart I also grabbed a bouquet of white roses, hoping she would like them.

As I headed into Giant to get some groceries I saw a tall muscular man with a shaved head that looked like my older brother and a matter in fact it was. I wanted to avoid him as much as possible but he caught me staring and ran right over.

"Hey little man!" He said giving me a tight squeeze.

" I heard you finally caught a girl I'd love to meet her. " He said.

" Oh uh yeah Aubrey she's pretty great. " I mentioned.

" Are all those things for her? " David asked.

" Yes. " I replied.

" She must have been a good girl then, mine Callie would never listen to me and I just got tired of it. " He said.

He killed her.

" Well Brendan it was great seeing you I'll probably swing by tomorrow to meet your lovely lady and I'll bring some Chinese food too! " He yelled back.

A new thought formed in my head. I must protect Aubrey.
