Melanie's Best Friend

Fair Day: Carousel

Melanie invites you to come along with her to a local fair going on downtown only a few minutes away! She tells you she has free passes to get in for the day. You then quickly decide that it would be fun to go with her and get to know each other better.
     Melanie takes you out into her garage to her car. You both hop right in and begin to drive to the fair. Instantly as you began to see the Ferris wheel from far away you could smell the fresh scent of cotton candy being spun. You loved the thought of cotton candy, in fact it was your favorite thing about going to any type of fair!
"Do smell the cotton candy? It smells great!" You say, excitingly
"Ugh it smells amazing! We should go get some as we go in!"
"Okay!" You say as you begin to grin
As you enter the gates to the fair you see a big cotton candy maker with cotton candy being spun, round and round. You and Melanie run over to the cotton candy machine, she pulls out her pastel wallet, lays her wallet down on the table to pull out a ten dollar bill and hands it to the vender.
As you both walk away you instantly begin to start eating the cotton candy. It was some of the best cotton candy you'd ever had! Just as soft as cotton and tasted extra sweet.
You both needed drinks and decide to go for lemonade. As you get up to pay for lemonade Melanie discovers that she had left her wallet on the table! She frantically begins to look around. You insist that you would pay for the lemonade with your own money and begin to help her find her wallet. Melanie runs to the table just where she left it, yet it wasn't there. You put your money away after starting to pay so that you could help Melanie find her wallet first. You run out of the line and you try to trace the tracks you both walked to see if she may have dropped it somewhere, you couldn't find her wallet either. You look up to tell Melanie that you couldn't find it, but she was gone! She was most likely looking for her wallet still, but you didn't know where she went!
Several hours passed and you couldn't find her. You began to worry about where she went... Did she get lost trying to find her wallet? Did she abandon you? You try to look for her around the entire fairground.
The fair was about to close down as you see Melanie stuck on a carousel...tied to it!
"Melanie!" You yelled, running over to her to untie her.
"(your name)!" She shouts
You quickly untie her from the carousel and she explains everything that had happened.
"It was this dumb boy! I was looking for my wallet as I saw him...I've known him for a long time and I can't believe I fell for him! Are you okay? I'm so sorry I wondered off, it's just that I have lots of valuable stuff in my wallet..." She says as she begins to tear up.
"It's okay, I completely understand! But are you okay? If I see him I'll beat him up for you!"

Melanie giggles

"It's okay, I'd rather just not have anymore contact with him. I just can't believe I fell for it, I thought he liked me!"
"Well we'd better start heading back before we get caught in here! The place is already closed now."
She runs off the carousel looking around to make sure nobody would catch them running around the closed fair. You both get back into the car and head on home. She drops you off by your house and you thank her for taking you to the fair and for the cotton candy, you begin to get out of the car.
"Once again I'm sorry about today...We didn't get to do much there... But thanks for getting me off that carousel! I'm so glad I met you." Melanie says right before you go.
"It really is okay! I'm really glad I met you too! Maybe we can hang out next weekend?"
"That'd be great! How about Saturday?"
"Sounds good!"
"Bye! See you Saturday!!" Melanie shouts.
"Bye! You too!" You reply as you enter your house and get ready for bed.
