They sat opposite each other at the kitchen table. They had both calmed down and Ford was writing notes down in his journal.
"What are you writing?" Fidd looked up at his book.
"Oh just some notes about today and that 'pure of heart' stuff" Ford shrugged.
"Do you think I'm pure of heart?" Fidd asked looking down at his hands.
"Fidd you are the most pure of heart person I have ever met and are proud to say I love you" Ford got up from his chair and kissed Fidd head.
"I love you too" Fidd blushed.Over the course of three months, Fidd and Ford continued to visit the unicorns, learning more about their culture and magic every time. Ford was becoming extremely frustrated with the unicorns reluctancy to cooperate. He was becoming more and more agitated about their stubbornness and the words they repeated every time "not pure of heart" the unicorns light voice would taunt before shoving them out of the magical palace. Fidd was becoming concerned with his frustration.
"Ford are you okay?" Fidd questioned with soft eyes as his partner stormed into the house. He didn't respond he just grumbled to himself and walked straight past Fiddleford without so much as a sideways glance. Fidd grabbed hold of Stanford's shoulder and stopped him in his tracks.
"Now wait one moment Stanford" he said sternly as Ford turned to face him.
"You didn't give me a kiss" Fidd smiled trying to soften up his angry partner. The stern look on Ford's face disappeared and he pulled Fidd in for a quick kiss on the lips.
"Better?" Fidd teased as they pulled apart. Ford nodded his head and smiled.
"This is the ninth time in two weeks you have gone out and come home in a bitter mood, what is the matter?" Fidd grasped hold of Ford's shoulder.
"Unicorns" Ford looked away from Fidd cause he knew he would get angry.
"This is what you have been doing! Going there nearly everyday, knowing you would be turned away and get angry! Ughh your so fucking stupid!" Fidd exclaimed, hitting Fords shoulder. Ford looked up at him.
"I'm sorry Fidd I didn't mean to upset you. I just get frustrated when I don't get the results I want so I became persistent with it until I got the results" he whimpered trying to pull away from Fidd.
"This has been straining on our relationship for weeks! Just because your so, so hardheaded!" Fidd cried, waving his arms in the air. He then gave out a long exhale.
"Promise me you won't go again, please. I miss you when you leave especially when you don't come to bed cause you're to busy with that book of yours" he pleaded with kind, soft eyes.
"Okay. I promise" Ford smiled.
"What did they do this time?" Fidd asked lightly pulling Ford into the next room so they could sit and discuss the tales of their day. They sat cross legged in the living room. Ford told Fidd of all the times the unicorns were mean and kicked him out. This made Fidd angry. Those unicorns had the nerve to bully his beloved just caused Fidd to grow angry deep down.
Soon night fall came and they laid in bed together, blissfully sleeping in each others company. Fidd couldn't get the thought of all the times Ford tried to get results but was turned away. That anger boiled inside of him until he decided to do something about it. He slowly climbed out of bed trying his best not to wake Stanford. He got dressed as quietly as he could. He grabbed the tape recorder and Fords journal before leaving the house in the dead of night.
