Every night I go to sleep in hopes of waking up to the smell of coffee and chocolate chip pancakes, running down the stars to see my mom and dad reading the newspaper and smiling. And every morning I wake up disappointed.
Reality is they died and nothing can change that,so I suck it up and go threw my day.
The group home isn't so bad Ms. Lewis tries to keep the taunts and jabs to a minimum. Of course I wouldn't be here if she had wanted me,but I was different even as an eight year old. I slept in a Kiss shirt instead of cupcake PJs and I gravitated towards the hot topic on the "forbidden" side of the mall. I didn't fit like most things.
So here I am waking up on my sixteenth birthday no presents,no home,and no happiness. I brushed my light pink hair into a ponytail before adjusting my nose piercing and walking out to the showers. Wincing I pulled my Ramones tee shirt and baggy sweat pants off and stepped into the shower the cold water hitting my bruises and causing me to hiss in pain. I thought about my brother only one at the time and how he was taken in. It pained me to think that he would never know who I am. Too young to know that Aunt Bertha wasn't his mom. I thought about my mom and how she accepted me. When she walked in on me using her eyeliner to draw tattoos on my arms.
"Mum I can explain.." she smiled and took my small hands into hers.
"Don't doubt your self,I love you no matter what you look like or who you love." She kissed my forehead and began looking for something in her jewelry box she looked at me and smiled slipping a black ring with gold X's decorating it on my thumb.
"There rockstar it completes the look,doesn't it.
I sniffle and rub the ring that I still wear only now on my pointer finger.
Tears slip down my face as I reach for the shampoo pulling the pony tail out and lathering my hair in soap.
Rinsing it out I slip out and wrap myself in a dull blue towel as the cool air hits me in the face.
I walk to my room pulling out a black tee-shirt and strapless bra clicking it in place and pulling on the shirt. I grab my beat up black jeans and combat boots and put them on. Slipping out before I can wake them I walk down the stairs to the sitting room and the office.
"Ms. Emerson I have news." I look at ms.lewis surprised there's never news,not about me at least
"What is it?" I ask genuinely interested.
"Some people are coming they are going to adopt you." I stare at her as if she just said the world is ending.
"They're members of a band called five seconds of summer apparently their management thinks if they adopt a kid especially a girl it will force them to grow up a little." I smile
"Really they want me like seriously?" She chuckles.
"Like seriously." She motions me closer and starts braiding my hair so it will look good.

"Just think Hun for the first time in a long time you will be happy and you won't have to deal with them." I smile wider
"You should pack." I nod and run up the stairs back to my bed. I start picking up clothes and throwing them in my bag. When everything packed I look around at all the other kids, and think how much I'm not going to miss this. Andy hitting me while his twin sister goes threw my stuff. They've been here as long as I have and the torment never stops. And of coarse my world crumbles when I hear his taunting voice.
"It looks like your leaving asshole." I turn towards him and remember the first time I met the jerk.
"Awe look at the new girl did your parents die poor poor you." He connects his hand to my face my lip is busted but he doesnt get in trouble he threatened to break my arm.
A fist connects to my face,deja vu.
" Awe does that hurt? It's gonna hurt more when they return you. Nobody wants you your just a reject. I bet your parents got into that car accident on purpose to get away from you. I bet you will be back within the week." Another slap
"All they wanted was a pretty little girl to show off their gonna run away in terror when they see you." He kicks me again and again "dirty useless slut" he aims for another kick but it doesnt come. I open my eyes and see hes being held back by a boy with tan skin tattoos and curly black hair.
"Are you alright?" A blond wavey haired lad asks I nod staring at him.
"I'm Ashton that's Calum Mikey and luke are down stairs." Suddenly I'm in his arms sobbing into his chest.
" Y-our not g-gonna bring me b-back are you?" He grasps my shoulders.
"No darling we're not." Calum glares at Andy.
"Nothing he said is true we want you and we are not gonna give you up." Ashy whispers into my ear soothingly.
"Come on love lets go down stairs." I pull back and wipe my eyes following Ashton down stairs Calum at my heals.
I first see a blond with a quiff and a lip ring who greets me with a smile when he sees blood on my face.
" What happened?" Ms Lewis yells Calum pushes Andy foward.
"Him" she glares at Andy.
"Your in trouble." She turns to me "let's get you cleaned up" I walk obediently toward her as she gives the boy with green hair and an eyebrow piercing the dissifectant.
"Come here" I sit down on his lap and he cleans my cheek.
"I'm Michael or Mikey, I'm sorry this happened." I shake my head and smile.
"It's fine Mikey it happens all the time." I cover my mouth not meaning to say the second part.
"Are you telling me he does this all the time?" I nod slowly and I can tell he's angry.
"Dont worry he will get reported and probably put in juvie for assaulting you." Ms Lewis says which emiditly makes me feel better.
" On to the paperwork you need to sign one more thing giving you two full custody." Calum sighs and I stand up so Mikey can sign too.
"There everything is complete. Your free to go now." I smile and follow the four as they walk out of the door.
They lead me to a shiny white car opening the door as they all climb in.
"So Thorn we don't know much about you tell us about your self." Luke say.
"Well I'm sixteen today my birthday is January 4 my favorite color is purple. I have a little brother but he lives with my aunt who doesn't like me. I'm bi-sexual. Oh and I'm punk rock." Mikey smiles
"I'm punk rock too." Calum elbows him playfully.
"Your as punk rock as a kitten" he pouts and we all laugh.
I take the chance to pick his snapback of his head and put it on my head.
Michael smiles and hands me his phone saying in a dramatic voice.
"Wanna take a selfie?!" I giggle and take a picture of me Mikey and Calum.
We take a few silly ones and then I move to hand the iPhone back but he stops me.
"That's your new phone." I gasp surprised.
"Thank you." Your welcome. Ashton pulls into the driveway of a house.
"We're hommmme!" I smile and nudge Michael so he gets out. He jumps out and I follow after him staring in awe at the beautiful house.
"Cmon Thorn" Michael calls running into the house like a maniac.
I walk up and push my way through the door.
"Wow." Everything is so beautiful there are old records hung on the wall and stickers that say cheery things on them.
"MOVIE TIME!" Calum announces running and jumping on Michaels lap who pulls him into an immediate cuddle.
I sit down as they turn on a horror movie final destination. I scoot close to Ashton the second the crashing scene comes on I'm ducking into Ashton scared. He pats my back and pulls Luke,whos obviously scared, to his other side.
We get to the scene where Tod is in the bathroom and I look over to see Michael and Calum kissing. I gasp and they pull apart and look at me.
"Um..."

Ashton pauses the movie And Calum speaks up.
"Me and Mikey are together." I smile.
"Thats cool as long as you dont leave the door open when your in a compromising "situation" I will not hesitate to embarrass you about it." I wiggle my eyebrows at them suggestively. Mikey and Calum turn beat red while Luke and Ashston break into laughter.
They unpause the the movie and we continue watching people die in horrible ways.
When the movie is over Ashton jumps up and screams
"SHOPPING WE FORGOT TO GET CLOTHES." I laugh and grab the key to the car and throw them at him-hitting him in the face.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I take his face in my hands inspecting it for damage.
"It's fine Thorn they've done much worse trust me." I smile timidly.

At the mall we emiditly go into hot topic and grab some band T-shirts before I gravitate toward the new Alice in wonderland dress.
"Try it on" mikey encorages and I do I go into the dressing room and try in on my bruises aching.

"You look great." Michael says I wink before going into the dressing room and taking it off before they buy it for me.
We go threw the mall buying clothes and shoes and accessories occasionally running into fans and taking a couple of pictures with them. When we finally arrive home I lay down on the couch tired.
I almost fall asleep before Michael announces it's time to have pizza.
"So how was your first day with us?" Luke says with a mouth full of food. Ashton slaps his head.
"Dont talk with your mouth full dork." I giggle at this which causes Luke to fake scowl at me.
"Wanna go LITTLE girl!?" I chuckle and start play wrestling with Luke much to Ashtons horror.
"Thorn you have to meet are management and all our stylists and yours." I fake sigh.
"Well I guess I can fit that in my busy schedule." He laughs.
"Oh can you now?" I smile playfully. Suddenly Michael glass falls out of his hand and shatters it doesn't take a genius to understand that there's something going on with him and Calum.
"I'm g-gonna- go to my room" Michael groans Calum doesn't say a word he just follows.
"Well that's awkward." Luke says scratching his head I shrug.
"It's no big deal it's not like Michael can get pregnant." Ashton chokes on his Sunny D.
"Who says Calum tops?" I roll my eyes at him.
"Obviously I do." I answer Ashton going red in the face.
"Can we not discuss this? I prefer to keep my bandmates sex life out of my thoughts." I laugh and poke his shoulder.
"Are you sure because I'm sure Calum can tell you how he-" Ashton plugs his ears singing "la la la" at the top of his lungs.
"Alright I'll stop." I say.
"We should talk about the meeting." Luke says reminding us.
"When you go in there they are gonna ask personal questions if you don't want to answer a q tap three times on the wall and we will get you out of what ever they are asking." I nod hesitantly.
"They will most likely want us to do a interview with you mostly their going to talk about us but they might ask your name and stuff."
In the next hour they go over most the do' and do nots now that I'm part of the spotlight.

"Ashy I'm gonna turn in." I say walking into Ashtons room.
But of course I don't get much sleep the nightmares taking over.
