Chapter One

I tried to delete chapter two, but accidently deleted chapter one as well. So here it is again. The only reason I deleted capter two is because I felt like it didn't follow the plot line I've set out for this story. The events that happened in that story weren't meant to happen so soon. So, I'm rewriting it and it'll be up soon. That's all I can promise.

Enjoy:

Pepper lies stretched out on the couch on her back, her hands rubbing circles on her stomach. Tony was out buying her current craving; oranges and green olives. A weird one but who can judge a pregnant woman?

She found out she is pregnant about 3 weeks ago so there is still yet to be a bump. But the feeling of knowing that there is a human being growing inside her. She can’t believe that in 9 short months she’d be a mother.

And Tony would be a father. She knows he’d make a wonderful parent, putting more effort into their relationship since the disposal of his suits. But then comes the tricky part.

Telling Tony Stark that she is pregnant. She wants to tell him, but every opportunity she gets, one of them is whisked away to work. Having both started back as CEO and Vice CEO at Stark Industries, they had no time for extra things like a child.

So the night she fell pregnant was not planned and that’s why telling her husband will be so hard. She can’t tell if he’ll want a child just yet, as he’s still recovering from the Malibu incident but then again, why not risk it? Tony’s not the kind of guy to make her get an abortion. Is he?

That’s why, when she heard the car pull up outside and the front door open, she made the quick decision to tell him that night. Surprisingly though, he hadn’t questioned her odd craving yet.

“Pep, where are you?” She hears Tony’s low but gentle voice calls out. She sits up and pulls down her top, answering with;

“I’m in the lounge.” She turns her head as Tony walks in carrying a plastic bag. He sits down next to Pepper and gives her a sweet kiss before opening the bag and pulling out several oranges.

“Remind me again why I had to buy you so many oranges?” he asks as he watches his wife unpeel and bite into the first of the juicy fruits.

She stops mid bite and glances sideways at Tony. She drops the orange back onto the coffee table in front of her and turns to face Tony.

“No particular reason, I just love oranges and olives. Never question a woman’s motives Tony.” She smirks, avoiding the topic of her pregnancy entirely.

The last thing Tony needs is a child getting in his way. A pregnant woman too. Having just got his official job back, he doesn’t need any distractions.

“Sorry. I’ll remember that next time.” Her husband replies, laughing. Pepper lets out an awkward laugh too as she picks up the orange and continues eating. Something churns in her stomach and she drops the orange before sprinting to the bathroom. She leans against the toilet and throws up violently. She feels a hand on her back, rubbing circular motions and holding her hair back.

When she’s finished, she moves away from the toilet and leans against the wall. She brings her knees up and rests her arms on top and her head in her hands. Tony grabs a towel and wipes her mouth, throwing her towel in the washing basket afterwards.

“Pep, are you ok?” He questions in a worried voice. When she doesn’t answer, he gently uses his index finger to lift her head. “Pepper, if something is wrong, you need to tell me.”

Sighing, she stands and walks out of the room. She can hear Tony call after her but she doesn’t stop. She reaches the hall and is about to enter the bedroom when a large hand reaches around her shoulder and slams the door shut. Using his other hand, Tony flips Pepper around so both his hands are on either side of her head and his body is pressed against hers.

“Now you have to tell me.” He says with a cheeky smirk. Staring into Tony’s eyes, she shakes her head, a serious expression on her face.

“No, I don’t.” She replies stubbornly. They stare at each other for a while and Tony knows that begging will get nothing out of his wife, so he does the next best thing.

Tony crashes their lips together and Pepper responds almost immediately. But only about 5 seconds in, Tony pulls away, earning a whining noise from Pepper.

“Tell me now.” He asks, a small smile playing on his lips.

Giving up, Pepper sighs and meets her husband’s eyes. Keeping the serious expression but with a hint of playfulness, she says:

“Tony, I’m pregnant.”

I know, I know, it’s really short. Two pages on word will equal only about one page on Wattpad and I hate having one page chapters but honestly, I had trouble starting this and I didn’t know how to end it. I did have another, longer chapter one but it didn’t make sense so I got rid of it.

It’s only 752 words. Horrible. God, I’m stupid. I promise chapter two will be longer. I have plans for that chapter and hopefully, it will be. But, when I write, I have one single plot line running through my mind but I write as I go. I don’t plan what’ll happen, it make stuff up as I go along.

(That’s why half the time my stories don’t make sense.)

Dedicated to @Lorki_Laufeyson for being such an awesome friend and for the amazing cover.
