What can you risk for love?
Tell me, what is it? Friendship? Family? Happiness? Is it right to risk everything just for someone who would not risk anything for you? Is it right to do those things even if there's no assurance that the person you love will love you the way you want them to? Is it right to give them your all and only receive a piece of their divided attention? Is it right? Tell me, is it right?
Maybe that is why it is called a risk; you will never know what will happen. All you could ever do is wait for the results and wish that the universe will let things happen in your favor. Like love, you fall in love with someone with all your heart and wish that they love you too even if you know that it is impossible, even if it will never happen. But you will still do it because you love them.
What will happen if you fall in love with the right person at the wrong time? Or the wrong person in the right time? When will you ever find the right person at the right time? Can the right be wrong? Can the wrong be right? Is not getting what you want a wonderful stroke of luck? Or just a stupid occurrence that prevents the inevitable? Will it ever be worth it? Well, there's one way to find out. Take the risk.

Lauren admitted to her best friend, Lucy, that she was deeply in love with her since they were freshmen students after their graduation. After four years of keeping it to herself, she finally let it go through pass her lips. Words didn't get stuck in her throat and the pouring of her feelings didn't have any interruption. She freely said what she wanted to say and Lucy listened intently.
The thing was Lucy was in love with her too. Their eyes were shaped like hearts as they leaned in and shared both of their feelings with a long, passionate kiss. Lauren loved Lucy, and Lucy loved her. But sometimes the universe wanted to do its thing and destroy relationships. Lauren was moving away with her father and siblings, partly because of her college, mainly because her father was against their relationship. He had nothing against homosexuality, but he thought that it wasn't the right time for them to be together. Both of them were off to different colleges and the long-distance relationship would destroy them.
Both girls were brokenhearted as their communication was cut down into a nightly Skype sessions. College was terrifying for Lauren, but she had Lucy even she only saw her on the screen of her computer. At first, they were contented with that and they even saw each other on special occasions in person. But both of them became busy because of college life and clubs and social life and maintaining their grades so their nightly Skype sessions were cut off to weekly Skype sessions, then monthly, then only on special occasions, then never at all.
It was Lauren's birthday, and she was sitting right in front of her laptop, waiting for a certain someone to go online and greet her a happy birthday. But it never came. It confused her. Why did Lucy do this? Did she forget? She thought that Lucy would give her at least a little bit of her time since it was summer and it was her birthday. With a tear-stained face, Lauren sneaked out of their house, not wanting to wake her father up. It was summer so she didn't bother to wear something warm like a jacket.
Lauren went to a nightclub, hoping to forget everything about Lucy for a little while. She danced with random strangers but she got tired. So she just sat at the bar and drank and drank and drank until everything was blurry in her vision and she passed out.
Lauren woke up with a headache and a blurry vision. She blinked many times until she could see much clearer. She was in her room, but how did she get home? She pulled her drawer and took some aspirins and downed it with water. She lied in her bed for a little while, waiting for the medicine to kick in before she went outside to eat breakfast.
Her father and siblings were sitting in their usual seats, but something was off, they were all glaring at her except for Taylor who was in the midst of pitying her sister. Lauren already knew why. She looked down, ashamed of what she'd done.
