Emmett continued to search the school until he found Edward and Jessica beneath a blanket of clothes.

            "Edward...now is not the time to get laid. The full moon is in two days, and we still haven't heard from Jasper. So get your clothes back on and come with me." Emmett sighed and he turned to give them some privacy.

            Edward, Jessica and Emmett walked back outside to meet up with the others. Claudia and Jacob came out from under the tree and walked towards Edward and Jessica.

            "What in the world happened to you Jessica?" Claudia asked as she looked Jessica up and down, taking in the purple bruises that covered her body from head to toe. Jessica looked at Edward for a moment.

            “I fell...a lot. You know me, clumsy Jessica." Jessica said trying hard to make it sound believable. They all walked back into the courtyard, the school empty.

            Where have you two been?" Jacob asked as Edward and Jessica sat down and linked arms.

            "Oh you know, around." Edward smiled and gave Jessica a quick kiss on the cheek.

            "Yeah, we've been all the way around." Jessica laughed.

            "Jessica after this is over with; you have some explaining to do." Claudia said sternly. They waited in silence while Jessica regained her composure.

            "I have contacted Jasper, and he will be with us shortly. He's triple-checking his information on Amber to ensure its credibility. We will proceed from there." Jessica stated with authority.

            "What's the next step?" Claudia asked wearingly.

            "I'm not sure yet. The next step depends on what information Jasper has on Amber." Jessica replied as she paced nervously.

            Minutes passed like hours, and Jasper was nowhere to be found.

            "Where is he?! He was supposed to be here a half-hour ago. Where is he?!" Jessica said frantically. Edward stood up and wrapped his arms around her, trying to calm her.

            "Jasper will be alright. He knows how to take care of himself." Edward reassured. Jessica looked up at him with worried eyes.

            "But he hasn't contacted me. I told him to give me a phone call if he was going to be late. Edward, I think something bad has happened to him. I don't know what to do!" Jessica cried and clutched Edward's arms, tears falling down her cheeks.

            Edward grabbed her forcefully by the arms, holding her tightly.

            "Jessica, please calm down! We aren't going to accomplish anything if you're freaking out like this!" Edward shouted, his eyes growing cold, his voice hard.

            Jessica trembled, pulled out of Edward's grasp and shrank back away from him, moving to stand behind Emmett.

            "Jessica...I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I'm sorry." Edward apologized as he reached his arms out toward her.

            Jessica turned from Edward and moved away again.

            "Jessie, please forgive me? I would never do anything to hurt you on purpose. I lost my temper and I'm sorry. Please...forgive me." Edward said, his eyes pleading.
