That depends on what kind of writing competition you're speaking of. it has to be more specific, but if it can be any genre, do this- write whatever you've always wanted to read about. It's literally that simple.

My bitchy cat named Bella. Looks are deceiving because she is the cutest thing ever.

I honestly do not care. You can take me to an f*cking dumpster and i still wouldn't care because we'd be together and could probably make the best out of anything. (At least I hope.)
