I awoke in the hot night to find find a thunder storm outside and the wind windy, I looked at my alarm clock, it was only 2:02am. I checked to see if my dad had come home since he didn't decide to wake me, which was unusual because usually he also has for dinner.
Leaving my room thunder rumbled and lightning lit the house and rain poured down hitting the house hard.
"Dad?"
I spoke while walking out to the other side of the house past the living room to my dad's door. I stopped and looked around the kitchen. Nothing was left out, I checked the fridge no left overs.
"Did he even come home?"
I headed towards his bedroom door.
"Dad?"
I spoke again, but no answer came back. As the thundering rumble continued the lightning lit my path his bathroom light was off as his door closed,
"He isn't in the bathroom...his bed is made...did he make it home?"
I worried for my dad and had nothing but questioning thoughts and worries. I decided to head back to my room, the storm continued and wasn't lighting up any time soon. I headed to my room the door bell rang stopping me in my tracks.
"Maybe its dad!"
I quickly walked over and opened the door.
No one was there.
"Dad?" "Dad?" "Dad?"
I called out trying to raise my voice louder then the storm. I don't think I did...because I never heard a answer. I close the door just a bit wet from the rain.
When I realized that maybe I should call him to find out where he was and even if the power still worked.
I flip on the light to the kitchen or what I thought I did and actually turned on the pourch light.
"Oops, wrong switch."
I started to flipped another switch. The kitchen light didn't work.
"Thats weird, shouldn't the kitchen light work if the porch light works?"
I was begining to freak myself out thinking about it and let it go and continued to head towards my room for my cell phone.
Again as the thunder rumbled and lightning lit my room I decided to try my bed room light and flipped the switch, no light appeared. I head over to where I dropped my book bag by my bed and noticed my phone and grabbed it I had missed 3 calls and had 5 unread messages.
I looked at my missed calls and one was from my dad another from Amber and one was an unknown caller.
I decided then to look at my messages.
One was from Amber and read,
"Leona! Pick up! Where are you?! Call A.S.A.P.!"
She seemed worried, but the time she sent the message was around 5pm I got home from school around 2:30pm and fell completely asleep.
I'll text back to her in a few after checking the other messages, three of the messages were from dad and read,
"I will be home soon how was school?"
The second message read,
"Leona? Amber told me you weren't feeling well everything okay?" The third message from my dad read, "Leona? Stay inside were getting hit with a nasty thunderstorm. Are you home?"

My dad seemed worried as well as Amber I better make sure I send a text or call them but I had another message. From who? It was also the unknown caller who also tried calling me. I opened it and read,
"You sent the light, I couldn't stay long, read my letter."

The message made no sense.
"What? What light? What letter? Does that mean someone was here?! When?!"
I was confused, and abit startled, the message was sent around 2:11am 9 minutes after I awoke?!

I looked around I didn't see no letter...I ran out and retraced my steps no letter was in my dad's bedroom and no letter was left in my bedroom, I check around the living room and I checked around the kitchen and then the fridge, nothing...
"Maybe in the mail box?"
I grabbed my coat and my tennis shoes and headed outside turning back on the porch light on so I can see despite it was only rain it was pouring so much you couldn't see anything alone with how late it was. I walk down the drive way and to the mail box and looked inside,
"A ring..?" I found nothing but a beautiful and simple gold ring, but no letter.
"What letter?!" I blabbed and happen to be talking to myself outside. At this rite I headed back inside being soaked from the rain, the coat didn't help much as I make a jog inside, slipping on a piece of mushy newspaper left outside my arms and legs happened to catch my fall. I laid there trying to think about what had happened, and could think about nothing but the letter, holding the ring, I remembered about replying back to Amber's and my Dad's call or messages.
I got up, composing myself and realized I gotten a few scratches on my knees and arms but I'm living so I didn't worry to much. I got back up and headed back inside as I shut off the porch light and locked the door, I took the rain coat off and my wet drenched shoes.
I decided to grab a gronola bar and munched on it even though I wasn't too hungry despite the lack of nutrient I had the day before.
"I'll just eat a big breakfast tomorrow well later."
As I headed back to my room I decided I would try and go back to bed. On my way headed to my room you could hear the animals running on our roof along with falling acorns it was annoying but when I was little I always found it interesting. I decided to stop in the bathroom and aid to my scratches first. Afterwards I head to my room and decide to just go to bed and my dad would be back soon.
As I plooped on my bed I received another message on my phone.
As I put the ring on my nightstand and grabbed my phone, there was a small envelope the size of a small invite but the envelope had no name and address just a small symbol, a circle with a curly line like a 'U turn' I open it up and left my phone on the nightstand, the letter looked as if it was torn. I read it anyway.
"Be careful. Don't be followed. Come to 21443 adam st. On 07.20."

Was all the letter had said before my eye's scroll to the bottom of the letter and read.

"P.s. this will help your scratches and wear the ring."

Nothing else was there but three letters.
l.E.0.

I laughed so hard I ended up crying.
"Here I thought the letter was important!"
I calmed down and just looked at the ring as I tried it on, surprising it fit well.
"Maybe it was from Amber. Maybe thats why...crap! I forgot I was suppose to messge or call her! Ugh! Dad too!"
I ended up slapping my face.
"Owwww!"
I dropped the letter back on the night stand and picked up my phone, I had 1 unread message.
I open the message and read.
"Keep inside. Glad I amused you, goodnight."
My eyes went big as I dropped my phone and I looked around my room. I felt someone watching or maybe I was being paranoid maybe it was Amber playing a prank on me, I felt uneasy, nervousness, I got quickly under my covers and closed my eye's.
"Maybe I'm dreaming yeah I'm dreaming. Yeah I'll ask Amber about it tomorrow. Yeah just close your eyes and wake up!"

Not long after freaking out and hearing nothing but the rain, acrons and animals run across the roof I went under a deep sleep were the darkness took me under and I heard and seen nothing.
