I am a bitter man, a bitter king and most of all a bitter being. I wasn't always this way, I was once a delightful, humble, respectful and caring individual. But all that changed years earlier when I saw my mate in bed with a wolf as they fucked. It wasn't the act of making love, on the contrary it was just sex nothing else because she could only make love to me.

Or at least that's what I thought until my dear little Kat went all slutty on me. She had not only betrayed my trust, but also my trust in women in general and she has violated that which was meant to be sacred. 'MATE'

My nightmare started on my sixteenth birthday when I realise young Katherine was my mate. Wanting to do right by her, I had left without a word to her about it. I wanted her to enjoy her childhood seeing as I was five years older than her. Making her extremely young to be mated. She was just a kid I swore to protect with everything within me. And I thought I was doing a damn good job until that unfortunate day nine years ago.

Yes it's been nine years and other than me being a bloody good king and business man, my life practically came to a standstill since then. In the nine years, I have only seen my siblings and family twice. And that was when aunt Amrita and Danny got married. My family had to attend and for the reason that herself, Danny and the kids decided to remain here, the wedding was held in the palace. Also that inauspicious day I had walked in on Kat six years ago.

My woes had commenced when I was eighteen and had gone to the wolf kingdom for the Diwali celebrations with the family. Oh even now I still feel bitter at not only myself but my fairy. It was his fault that I had lost control and my fault that I couldn't control my basic instincts.

"Hey Jin Joo, have you seen Kat anywhere?" I had asked my little sister as I walked into the family room. Everyone was up and ready to join the celebrations and I wanted Kat to come with us so I could keep an eye on her.

"No Oppa, I haven't seen her today but I did speak to her this morning and she had said that she'd meet us up at the palace gate when we all step out."  Jin Joo said nonchalantly as she turned back to watching the TV. Whilst my cousins and little siblings ran around screaming at the top of their lungs. Making the adults cringe at how loud they were.

I decided to take a stroll outside with the noise becoming unbearable for my very sensitive ears. Seeing as I had better hearing than everyone else I know and have met. "Where are you off to Josh?" I turned to face mother, she had a knowing glint in her eyes. With a smirk and I'm sure I was turning red from embarrassment. So I bit my lips something mother also does when she's nervous.

"I'm ... I am just taking a walk outside." I lied as I stuttered with my pathetic excuse.

"Are you sure about that son? Because something tells me you're lying." I mentally cringed argh this is what happens when your mother knows you all too well.

"I am certain mother, you kids are too noisy and my cousins are no better."  I spoke a little better this time around rubbing the back of my neck. Mother raised one of her perfect eyebrow which meant 'are you lying to me young man?' "Ok fine, I was just going out to see if Kat was here, Jin Joo said she was going to meet us at the gate. That's all." I grumbled quietly with clenched teeth.

"Oh my poor son is whipped, and he has got it bad. How on earth are you going to survive another three years before she turns sixteen?" Mother asked rhetorically. "And it will unfortunately get harder as she grows older." She finished.
