A/N: OMG you guys literally don't know how excited I am because I loved this story so much but I feel dumb because I deleted it when we got 3K reads. Now I'm bringing it back! Plus I wrote this when I was like, 12, so bear with me. Also, the lovely Sonam Kapoor will be playing our main-Ruqayya Asfour (As-FOO-r)
+++++++++++++++++++++
It all started in Amun's house. He was ranting on and on about how Benjamin needed to control his power...Oh before I tell you that story, I need to tell you about myself.
I live in Cairo with my husband, Benjamin Asfour. I have dark brown hair, which is coincidentally the same color as Benji's, and my eyes are dark brown.
I am a human.
Benji is a vampire, who was turned by Amun, the leader of the Egyptian coven.
When you are turned into a vampire, sometimes you can gain an ability. This ability deems you as special in the eyes of the Volturi. Benjamin was one of these 'special' vampires. His ability is to manipulate the four elements; water, earth, fire and air.
This makes him more valuable to Amun--and to the Volturi, the oldest coven known to vampires. But we'll get to that later.
I believe that Amun is abusing his power. He works Benji to the bone, only giving him a routine 30 minute break every 24 hours. Being his wife, of course I worry! But Benji uses his charm and his sweet voice to ease my worries.
You are probably wondering why the Volturi haven't said anything about us yet. Marriage between immortals and mundanes was forbidden, unless you agreed to turn the mundane into a vampire. Then, you had a limited time window to turn them.
Our time window was my 22th birthday, or until I died before that.
To the outsiders, Benji looked about 24-25 and I was 21. The Volturi wanted to keep it that way.
Benji is also the adopted son of Amun. His parents died when he was a little boy, and Amun feels symapthy for him.
I suppose Aro does too.
-------------------------------------------------------------
It was a nice day in Cairo, the temperature a warm 95 degrees Farenheit.
Benjamin and I were laying down in our master bedroom in our own home. My head was on his chest and his chin rested on my head. Our hands and legs were intertwined and we were just having quiet conversation.
That is, until..
"I overheard Amun speaking with Kebi." Benjamin brought up.
Who is Kebi? Oh, she's Amun's wife.
Don't worry, I was surprised as well.
"Oh? What did he say?"
"They spoke of how someone from the Olympic coven was coming to speak to him about a war, persuade him to join."
We sat up, facing eachother.
"This war you speak of, who is it against?"
He grimaced. "The Volturi."
I gasped. "Against The Volturi? Impossible!"
He entwined his fingers with mine.
Warm against Cold, I couldn't help but notice.
"I would like to join them. The Volturi are known to torture innocents to get what they want. I want to fight for what's right."
At this point, my head was tilted downwards and tears were flowing freely off my face. My mind ran through the endless list of what ifs?
What if he gets hurt? What if he dies? What if the Volturi...what if they--
Benji lifted up my head with his finger.
"If you fight, look to your right side and I will be there."
His lips were on mine in an instant. The kiss was gentle and loving and I savoured every second of it.
When we broke apart, we smiled at eachother and he whispered three words that made my heart flutter.
"My brave Kaya."
