A women and her son walked along a riverside. They gazed into the sunset while dipping their feet in the chilly river. The young boy splashed his mother with cold water and she shrieked with joy as it dripped down her face. The young boy's mother splashed water into his face and they continued to do that back and fourth making a lot of noise.
As they were making noise, some smugglers were trudging around. They saw the mother and her son and realized who they were. The smugglers grabbed their weapons, and sprinted after the boy and his mother screaming.
The boy and mother realized who was after them and ran across the river. They didn't care if they were soaked. They ran through the water and splashed as much as they could to distract the yelling smugglers. The smugglers followed them across the river and everywhere else they went. The boy and his mother hid behind a bush full of berries and listened for the smugglers to pass by. While they waited the little boy ate the berries that were on the bush. After they passed by, the mother and her son arose and rested, leaning their backs against a tall cliff.
While they rested the mother spoke to her son, "Everything will be fine. Don't worry."
Her son didn't respond for he knew his silence would show bravery. He thought about his warm bed. He wished he could be there under his covers. Instead he was outside, in his mother's arms.
After a few minutes of resting, the mother and her son felt an earthquake. The ground was shaking harshly. Lofty trees were collapsing and vast rocks were tumbling off the cliff onto the boy and his mother. The mother pushed her son out of the way of the oversized rocks. When the boy realized the situation they were in he didn't know what to do. He watched with fear as the rocks fell onto his mother, the queen.
