The poem I wrote for my homework :)

Dear daddy I guess I just wanted to say,

Mom’s been sad since the day that you went away

She told me you’re in heaven with god being happy,

But why did you leave?

Did you like them more than me?

I still love you even though your gone,

When are you coming back?

I hope it’s not long.

We could bring our parents into school today,

But mom was at work, so I had nothing to say.

I stood at the front, being brave, just like you,

People laughed at me when I said what you do.

I told them you’re in the army,

A soldier big and brave,

That I wanted to be just like you,

When I grow up some day.

They told me it was a dangerous job,

That many soldiers died,

When I said that you were gone,

Some went quiet, some cried.

I want you to come home,

You didn’t finish my book,

Mom can’t do the voices,

Especially captain hook.

Bye bye daddy,

I have to go now,

It’s past my bed time-

Mom’ll have a cow!
