Sirens blew around me making my ears bleed. I had just had surgery on them a week before now but that wouldn't matter to anyone. I couldn't help but to chuckle at other people seeing them trip and stumble over one another. Yes what was happening is scary but a good laugh helps when the world could be ending as you know it. There is only one way in and out of the city and the police and national guard were all around checking drivers license and backpacks to make sure no terrorists leave the city while at the same time making sure there are no suicide bombers running around ready to blow up on the spot. Another reason why I'm not too scared is because I am a retired General  in the U.S. Armed Forces and I've been through things like this evacuating village folk out of a small town in Iran. But I really feel  sorry for the people who haven't already been in this situation before. Flashbacks immediately started going through my mind as I heard an explosion west of the city. I remember how the village was in flames, children were screaming, and people were dead everywhere, with blood oozing from their bodies. I tried to save as many people as I could but then I had fallen into shock by a bullet puncturing one of my legs. I flashed back into reality as I heard one of the officials say ID. I blinked and handed him my ID. "You're Lincoln Holmes?" he asked oddly. "I am." I answered politely. The officer looked at me, then at my ID, and then back at me again. "Come with me."
