We were heading out of the main hall. I ran. I felt the stares again. I was so confused. Who was he? Why was he so scary? Why are they looking at me like this?!?!? The demon from before was still staring through the entire assembly earlier. A DEMON. Rachellé warned me about guys like him.
I sprinted down the hall to my room. The speaker said that the first semester starts tomorrow, so I needed to get ready. I don't even get what they would teach at this school. I ran into something.
It was feathery and dark. Very dark. I felt drawn into it. However, I jumped back in fear, knowing what it was. Who it was.
"Why did you run into me, Veronica Brooks?" A dark and deep voice to match his terrifying features. I saw his face more clearly. He had strong, angular features and almost pure white skin. He had long, sharp, black horns protruding from his pitch black hair. His ears were pointy, as well, and had piercings running up them. His eyes were a terribly bloody shade of red. He could be considered attractive if it wasn't for those merciless eyes. They were waiting for a response.
"S-sorry," I stuttered," I didn't mean to run into you.."
He cut me off. "Humans such as yourself need to be careful. You could be..punished," he flashed a pristine fanged grin as he said that, "for such mistakes."
I felt a pain in my chest at his words. I felt sick. I sprinted away. As I went into my room I saw Rachellé was already there. She looked confused. "Veronica, are you feeling well? You look....what in my God's name happened to you?"
"A demon" I whispered. Her eyes shot open as she rushed over. I don't think I've ever seen her so concerned for me. I staggered as she helped me walk to my bed.
"What happened?"
I told her everything. I told her about how alone I was. I told her how they all stared at me. I told her how he didn't stop staring and how I ran into him. I told her how I was homesick for a home I have never had. I told her how no one has ever cared. She listened to all of it as tears rolled from my eyes down my cheeks. Suddenly, she hugged me. Her wings enveloped me and I felt safe. She looked at me with a sadness I had never seen in anyone before. "I care," she whispered. "I care."

I have a friend.
