I felt light headed as I ran around the large 'safe' area. I didn't really think about what was going on. All I knew was that there was a break in. The infected were scattered inside the concrete wall that they climbed. I kept dodging and ducking the zombies swipes.
'Jess! Help!' my friend Codyn yelled to me. My eyes widened with shock as I turned around to see his arm being bitten off and his belly being ripped to shreds like he was in a blender of the infected. I ran to the one building that wasn't destroyed, Geoff's room...
I stepped inside the house and called out for Geoff. I looked to my right and my jaw dropped with depression. There in the corner was Geoff, but his arm had a noticeable bite mark and his skin was pale. Blood was dripping from his lip along with his saliva. He wobbled towards me, growling in his deep voice. Tears poured down my face like a waterfall as I reached into my pocket. I grabbed my pistol and turned off the safety. Out of the other pocket I grabbed a bullet. I quickly loaded my pistol and aimed it at his forehead. My hand was shaking with regret but my mind was telling me to do it. I placed my hand on the trigger, closed by eyes and before I even knew it, Geoff's blood was splattered across my face. I dropped my gun and fell to my knees. I placed the now distorted face of Geoff on my lap and held him tightly. I knew it was time to be responsible and help others. I knew I had to let Geoff go.
I walked out the door to see a clear path from me to the open gate so I sprinted to it with no one noticing me. I ran through the forest killing any of the infected in my way. I kept running through the forest until I reached the edge of Washington, D.C. I walked towards the White House hoping that someone would be alive.
When I reached the White House I stepped over Barrack Obama's rotting body and creeped through the doors. It was completely empty. I found a corner, crouched in it and balled my eyes out. The carpet around me was damp with my tears and the blood of others. I missed Geoff so much but I knew I had to find a safer place. I walked out of the White House to see a beautiful sunset. I smiled and continued to walk in the almost darkness.
In the morning, my eyes were bagged. I was tired. I opened the door to a house and slept through the day.
When I woke up it was a morning. I realised I had slept through the whole day AND night.
'At least I'm not tired,' I told myself. As I dusted my shoulders and walked out the door, I heard a loud horn and a tap tap tap on the ground in front of me. I looked down to see a smoke bomb. As the smoke poured out of the grenade, I started to see black figures walking towards me. Suddenly from behind me, someone put a cloth over my mouth. I started to feel loopy before passing out.
I swiftly opened my eyes to see metal bars blocking my way out. As I stood up, I saw a broken glass of chloroform on the floor with a cloth. I looked out of my cage and saw people around a campfire. They brought out an Indian woman who was chained to a log. She had tears rolling down her face.
'Please don't hurt me,' she cried out. The people nodded their heads and threw the helpless woman into the fire. Someone walked over to my cage and opened the door. He grabbed me by my arm and pulled me into a room full of logs and chains. He pushed me to the ground and grabbed a chained log. I stood up and punched him. As he fell to the ground, I looked around and searched for a way out. I was scared. I looked around the corner to see the impatient killers around the fire. I kept trying to find a way out but I heard someone coming. I hid in some hay that was left over from the large barn we were in. He searched and saw the man laying on the floor in pain. 'Where's the girl?' he asked.
'I dunno, she smashed me face in and disappeared,' the man on the floor squealed. They both growled and told everyone to search the area. I ran past the hay and exited through the other side. After a few minutes in the woods, I started to see the buildings of a new town. I found somewhere to sleep after that crazy experience.
I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of steel banging. I checked the houses next door to see anyone but no one was there. I kept looking for any other survivors until I found a basement. I hopped down the stairs and stared at what I saw in shock. 3 cages, all with signs. The first cage had one of the infected in it and the sign read 'no injection.' The second cage had a different looking kind of zombie, sort of human like and not so gruesome. The sign for this cage read 5mL. The next cage had a human in it. He was in the corner with expired food and room temperature water. The sign for this cage read 10mL. The person in the cage noticed me and asked me to let him out. I found a key and opened the cage. He grabbed the gun out of my pocket and pointed to his own head.
'Woah woah woah,' I said to him.
'I don't remember anything... They kept me in there for too long,' he said.
'What did they do?' I asked him.
'All I remember is that they gave me an injection of uhhhh, 10mL I think it was. But then people took him away. The only thing left in my cage was some food and water. That was months ago. I've had to ration until someone found me. I can't stand life anymore,' he replied before pulling the trigger. I saw a book next to his exploded head and started to read it. The first page read, I decided to make a diary for my work. I captured 3 of the infected and put them in these cages. I also brewed up something special which I thought could be a cure to the infection. And I found out today, 10mL of my Bryntex can cure one of the infected. I made bottles and bottles of my cure and a recipe before I found this out and I'm writing this because the creating team of the Zaxeeve virus are at my door. I hid the cure in a chest. Anyone who is reading this. Find it and stop this madness.
I opened the chest and saw many bottles of the blue liquid. I knew that I could stop this. It was time to cure the infected...
