It's funny how it started and it's tragic how it ended. A middle class suburban girl with big dreams and a future not as bright as her mother would expected, a classic story. A girl who always dreamt of princes and happy endings. doing the right thing cause that was what you are supposed to do ''Get out of that boring town of yours! You never know what amazing adventures will come your way.'' I've heard them say but truth is, this isn't a self discover story you would read in fairytale books. This was real life.California was my dream, who wasn't anyways? An ordinary Ohio girl who daydream too much was now packing her bags, swearing there was no turning back. I could hear my mother yelling at me on how regretful I was going to be and how she'd like to see me coming back after 3 days of such unsuccessful journey. How my sister was looking from her room door as she was wondering if she would have the courage to do this or how stupid his sister was to leave. But it was settled, I wanted to make those big and silly dreams come true. A stable life, an independent life, a normal and carefree life, that was all I want. But like I said before, this isn't a teen best seller story. Princes and happy endings was what I hoped for as a kid, but soon I would be facing reality.
They've warned me that California's lights can blind you the more you look at them. They also said to be careful on what you wish for, cause soon I would realize that my prince wasn't fighting a dragon to rescue me, but getting high at some cheap motel while trying to fight against his own demons. ''and don't fall in love, Presley. it means nothing here'' the blonde said as he took out a cigarette and lighted it. and as the moonlight shone brightly on his silhouette, I finally understood. but I guess it was too late for that warning, I was blinded by the lights of California
