~Still on the bus~
Cyprus' POV.
"Excuse me ma'am, but you fell asleep during the bus ride." the driver informed, "And you're the only person left on the bu-."
"Really?" Cyprus said cutting the driver off.
Still squinting, her blurry vission cleared up from her nap.
And finally, Cyprus realized it was the anxious bus driver who was the unknown figure.
At the same time though, her blue & aqua tinted eyes glanced around her surrondings and noticed the grocery store through the window.
Crap. The Crackers.
"Thanks you so much! Sorry if I was rude!" Cyprus apologized, then rumaged to find a 50 dollar bill and handed it to the bus driver with her apology.
Unexpectedly, she got up from her covers, grabbed her things, and sprinted out the open doors in a flash. The bus driver then was just left standing there, staring at the cash, in shock.
~At the grocery store~
Still panting from the sprint from the bus, across the parking lot, and being a splinter away from being almost ran over by an SUV, Cyprus was scanning the processed aisle for a box of Ritz crackers.
Eventually, the bright red box finally was in her grasp, and she clenched the box and started running like she was an olympian toward the express lane in the checkouts.
"Hello, how may I help you?" asked the male cashier.
"Um..yeah, can you checkout this box of crackers, please?" Cyprus panted heavily, while she slowly was regaining from her remorseless, and sloppy run.
Glancing up from his phone, he looked at Cyprus with amazement in his eyes, like she suddenly grew wings from her back and started hovering above the ground.
"Y-yeah uh...sure." sttuttered the cashier.
After his ID tag suddenly danced with his movement as he shaked his head in a side-to-side motion. Like he was trying to get something out of his thoughts.
"What's wrong? Is there anything unusual about me?" asked Cyprus worried, and a little intmidated that the guy didn't even touch the damn crackers in the past 5 minutes.
"Oh, there certainly isn't, beautiful." he cooed.
"Excuse me?" Cyprus defended, not really realizing what he just said was real.
"N-No! I didn't meant it like that, it's just that y-you're..." he stopped, his eyes were scanning for a recovery from his mistaken words.
But realizing that he couldn't come up with anything, he admitted this...
"I think, and probably everyone else does, that you're really, really... pretty."
Now the awkward cashier was amusingly a really bright shade of red, all around his face.
The weight of his words repeated in Cyprus' head. This alone, created a very, very long silence between them.
Okay then... she thought. At this point, she still can't tell what he said actually escaped through his body.
*Another 10 minutes later*
Finally though, after 10 minutes of awkward silence, the cashier realized he wasn't even doing his job. So he casually swiped the crackers across the checkout pad thingy.
His swift movement forced out a "beep!" out of the machine while doing it.
"W-what time is it?" Cyprus asked. Now it was her turn to stutter.
The thought that he thought of her as "pretty" is just very unusual to her, because the last time she heard that word came from her parents.
Who sadly left her & Lola when Cyprus was only 9...
+++++
(A/N: Reality kinda sucks when you realize you parents leave you right?
What would you do if you're parents left ya? Think about it.
