Wake up

               

I slowly try to open my eyes but I feel like every bone in my body is broken. I try to move but I can't.

"Don't move Lola, you're in the hospital." I hear the doctor say. "You were in a car accident. "What? A car accident? I don't feel good, machines are beeping fast, what is going on with me? "Lola, calm down! You have serious head injuries, we'll bring you to the MRI to get a scan." I try to control my breathing as much as I can, but I can't.

The nurses role my bed gently from the small, stuffy room in the hallway. "Lola! STOP!" A boy yells through the hallway. The nurses stop rolling my bed and a blond boy suddenly hangs over my bed.

"Are you okay?" he asks. "I'm sorry but who are you?" I say looking at the boy with glittering blue eyes.

"I'm sorry, we don't have time for this right now. You'll see her when she wakes up from surgery." The nurse says briskly. My bed starts to roll again heading towards the MRI.

They pull me from my bed to a table. "Lola, where are going to give you anesthesia, don't fight against it." I blink with my eyes to let them know I understand. A few minutes later, everything goes black again.

3 days later
"What if she doesn't wake up?" I hear a sobbing voice saying. "She will..." A woman's voice assures him.

I slowly open my eyes and see that I'm lying in a small room. The same boy from the hallway is sitting in the chair next to my bed talking to my... mom? Why is he talking to my mom?

"Oh my God, you're awake!! "My mom says in excitement when she notices my eyes are open. The boy's face lights up and a huge smile appears through his tears. He stands up and gives me a kiss on my cheek.

"You're the boy from the hallway." I say looking deeply in his blue eyes. He nods his head slowly. "Do I know you?" I ask still looking in his eyes. They have something so fascinating.

His smile suddenly disappears. I hear him swallow his tears away. "I'm the one who drove the truck. I'm sorry"" He says. My mom's face goes from excitement to disappointment. It's like he's a ghost sitting in front of her. He gives me a kiss once more. "Goodbye, Lola." He says and leaves the small room.
