Angels are dicks.
If Pix were here, I think she'd agree on that. Ever since the incident in Santa Monica, when Micheal tried to smite her, she'd harboured a bit of a grudge. It seemed wherever she went, the fluffy-winged monks wanted to use her or kill her.
It wasn't fair, she knew that. The angels knew that too, but they didn't care. She was God's perfect weapon. But He knew to be perfect she would have to be like humans and have free will- but being God, he found a loophole.
So now whenever the angels needed something, which was often, they would fly down from heaven, 'glory glory hallelujah' style, to whichever motel Pix was at and tell her to do something. And she would do it. She didn't have a choice.
That's why she hated God. He gave her enough will to figure out how to do things, but she couldn't say no. They could tell her to chop off her arm and she would do it without a thought.
And ever since the apocalypse started, things had been worse. Go kill this demon, go find this knife, go kiss this dragon. It was ridiculous.
So when an angel showed up in her motel room -again- it was really no surprise that she shot him.
"Hello Pix," he said, ignoring the fact his trench coat now had a smoking hole in it. "It's been a while."
"Castiel," she said coldly, lowering her gun. His newest vessel was handsome, she had to admit. Black hair, cheekbones, and eyes a sky blue unlike anything she'd ever seen. But beneath the angel's skin was a power so bright, so profound, she could hardly stand to look at it. "What do you want this time?"
Admittedly, it wasn't that often she saw Castiel. The last time had to be centuries ago- to save some pre-biblical literature in Pompeii before the city went down in smoke.
Instead of answering, he pulled out a silver blade. It wasn't an angel blade. This was slimmer, with a darker hilt and symbols dancing up the side. "Take this," he said, and she took the weapon from his hands.
She felt it's power- white-hot, stronger than anything she'd felt before. "Are you seriously giving me a Hand of God?" she asked. "Are you stupid?"
"I'm giving you a mission," said Castiel, ignoring her comment.
"I'd prefer some money, actually. Credit card fraud gets tiring, you know."
"I need you to protect Micheal and Lucifer's vessels. You must ensure neither say yes." Castiel averted his eyes.
Pix perked up. "What's this?" she asked. "Is little Cassie trying to stop the apocalypse? Are you rebelling? That's adorable, Wings. I knew I liked you for a reason."
"You have an equal hatred for all angels," he said, once again making eye contact.
Dang, she thought, forgot angels can read minds.
"These vessels are named Sam and Dean Winchester. They're brothers. Find them. Save them."
Then he was gone. Pix groaned. "Angels."

I'm actually really surprised I got this into words. I've been thinking about this story for months, but never found the right way to start it. So this is it. Happy birthday.
If you guys have any ideas, criticism, or compliments I'd be really glad if you commented. This is my first story, so it's absolute crap. Anything helps. Thanks. -Sam
