After several days of flipping through portfolios and personal statements, Ciel was beginning to doubt that he will find a replacement for his senior butler. He glanced at the paper in front of him, the man described was nothing compared to his matured butler Tanaka.

Maybe he was being too harsh on all the candidates, Ciel reflected, or maybe he couldn't bring himself to supplant Tanaka who had served his father loyally all these years. However, it was Tanaka who insisted on a new recruit.

The darkness calmly consumed the daylight, Ciel sighed and pushed the pile of paper aside, he decided that was enough disappointment for today. He examined his surroundings longing for something that will entertain him for a few hours.

His precious moments of leisure and relaxation where quickly shattered and turned back into reality when one of his devoted servants came in and explained that there is a visitor awaiting his presence.

Ciel wasn't in the mood to socialize and talk aimlessly, but it was his duty as the head of the Phantomhive household to show curtsy and respect to whoever decided to visit him (for whatever reason).

Ciel regarded the weather as he advanced down the corridor, the raindrops were violently thrown against the window by the insolent wind. They looked paralyzed and forsaken, they almost reminded him of himself.

When Ciel arrived at the top of the palatial staircase, he took a deep breath and refreshed his stance. He spoke the words he had practiced countless times, it was a form of curtsey that came naturally.

"I am Ciel, the head of the Phantomhive household and company. It is my upmost pleasure to be your host."

Ciel spoke kindly.

He looked down to evaluate his guest for the first time, a man draped in a soaked, raven trench coat and donning a dusky top hat that concealed his facial features stood before the main entrance. He was of a slim build with ghost-like skin.

Just a glance of the man would be enough to terrify smaller children, however i am no child, Ciel thought as he made his way down the colossal stairs.

The man was most likely a lost tourist or a wandering peasant, either way Ciel wanted nothing to do with it, he signaled to his servants and began to speak.

"Allow my attendants to bring you new clothes and arrange an escort-" Ciel began.

"No need," the man rapidly interrupted, meanwhile disrobing the over layer to reveal a six button tailcoat, a grey vest and a coal black tie. The man proceeded to remove the top hat in swift motion, displaying his sharp facial features and enchanting ruby eyes. His hair was the color of spilled ink, and blended perfectly with the night sky. Ciel stood motionless, almost like under an illusion spell.

"ill be staying here." The man proclaimed.
