Chapter 1

I cradled my new born cousin in my hands, thinking of how incredibly light she is. The festivities grew louder and so i moved to the courtyard, hoping the poor dear wouldn't wake up. My hands got colder as i noticed the freezing temperature outside and then witnessing the very first drops of snow. So distracted i didn't notice that my nephew was awake grabbing my hair from the ponytail and playing with it gently. When i did notice i smiled and gave her my finger she grabbed it and chewed it with her toothless gum. Do be honest it tickled, but i soon relized that the adults were sinking into the festivities too much and most were drunk, i sighed, i looked around for somewhere safe from the cold. I saw the old barn that the horses were kept in, and slowly walked towards it. It was a big door but i learned the trick to open it.

Bash three times, Then Pull with all your might

Once i opened it, the horses woke up immediately warned by the new stranger.

"wait for me here , okey."

I dropped her in a stack of hay making sure no dogs were around of course. And i left my cousin to calm the drunk fools who would break great grandmas antique china if i didn't calm them.

"Oh darlin i was ,hic wondering were you were!" Aunty Sophie babbled

i went to steady Auntys steps as she was toppling over at every time she tried to stand. I ordered Aunty Sophia to sit at the bar stool as long as she wants to drink,But knowing her she would never be done drinking kvas. Thelma was also drinking the powerful drink.

"Thelma, you know better than drinking kvas!"

Thelma looked at me with stern yet playful eyes,

"DO NOT WORRY, life is wonderul and you will end up like me when your 18." Thelma said

"I'm only 12, but right now your drinking kvas like a total idiot!" I protested

"Kvas is wondeful, it makes you see shiny things in the sky."

i gave up, Thelma was obviously dancing with the fairies. I went to several other adults i never met before and calmed them down. A few adults thanked me for calming the roudiness that once was unbelievably terrible, now they were moderatley loud.

"still loud enough to get a complaint from the neibours" i sighed

I walked out of the bustling noise of the main room onto the courtyard and to reveal the sound of my cousin crying, i ran towards the barn opening the door frantically. When i saw her she was unharmed, probably scared from the noise or just being plain alone.Thats when i heard it, the shower of screams and the sound of someone knocking and banging on the barn door, but when a shot of a gun was sounded the banging stoppped. I was terrified and slightly confused but my cousin stopped crying, in a frantic i grabbed my cousin and ran to the motorbike. No key, I ran to the corner hoping to hide but knowing the circumstances the robbers or bandits probably would be staying here for a while. So i did what any honourable senior that has a baby would do,

RUN

I dropped my cousin softly onto the floor and ran towards the Closet. Inside the closet were saddles and helmets i made haste and grabbed the nearest horse that looked strong enough to make a giant trip. Slapped a saddel ontop of the horse and got the smallest helmet they got. I looked into the small pantry they had in one of the corners of the barn that was not used for storing hay for the horses. On the saddle i put one bag on each side, one side had jam, bread and a few apples that i found. On the other 2 pathetic versions of blankets.i grabbed the helmet tightened it on my head got my cousin carried her up on the horse then relised i don't know it's name, you can't make the horse to move without knowing its name, my grandpa always made shore he remember it was like a password to make the dumb things move. I gave it a stern push and it moved i opened the gate and rode silently out of the barn making my quiet and quick escape.

Now looking at the barn all the way over the hill i slowed the horses pace and galloped to a town nearby.
