"Everybody downstairs now !" ordered an authoritative voice.

Five sets of footsteps raced down the three separate staircases of the Jackson manor. Four girls and a boy stood in a line, oldest to youngest.

Eyes swept through the line counting heads before narrowing at the spot between the youngest and the third youngest, a sigh of exasperation filtered through tight lips.

"Where is Sade?"  she asked wearily to the oldest in line.

The oldest's lips twitched into a smile.

"In her room,"she paused dramatically  "sleeping."

The older women ran her fingers through her hair, before staring at the ceiling .

"She does know the main reason we're going out today  is to get her school supplies, correct?"

All five heads nodded in unison.

"Will somebody please go get her ?"

Five voices chorused

"Not it " like this was something that never failed to occur.

"Somebody get her now" Mrs.Jackson growled annoyance clear in her voice.

"Get who" an innocent voice questioned.

Mrs. Jackson's head whipped around glaring suspiciously at the once missing child.

"Don't want to know." she grunted.

"Moving on, does everybody have their list and money?"

"Yes" they all chorused again except the youngest who pouted and went to her father.

"Not fair." she grumbled

Her older sister whispered reassuringly "Just three more years."

The head of the household squared her shoulders "Remember to-"

"Always speak clearly and precisely "they recited, even her husband.

Mrs. Jackson through her hands up in frustration. "Fine, let's go! "
