once upon a dream...

A soft cover lay over her, but what was this? it felt unreal yet so corporeal. "Huh?" she said, questioningly, her words echoed in a soft tone back. Obviously, it was a dream, but that thought hadn't come to her yet. She'd never had a dream where it was not obvious it was a dream, so the experience was quite new. She looked around, it seemed this was not her own bedroom.  The mattress was set in the right corner of the leeway, with adorable toys set beside it. but in this darkness, it looked somewhat like a creepy Asian doll. A lamp was above her so she could easily get to it. Only till now did she realize how dark the room was, and decided that lamp needed a click or two, however much it wanted. "Man, i'm smart. Iv'e been trying to look around the room in complete darkness. WOW! Look how smart i am. My mom would be proud." she says in the darkness, And then pushes the button for the lamp.

When she pushes the button the light was blaring her straight in the face and she couldn't get up from the blinding whiteness that was that lamp. "ow, okay. That's great. I love being blinded. ugh..."she moans. She looked to see that there was not a room before her, but a jungle. A jungle atop of the clouds. "....uhhh. Explanation please? I don't get the logic in this" she says, staring intently at the roots of a tree embedding itself in the fluffy cloud that somehow, withstood her wait. "I'm no philosopher, but i'm pretty sure mother nature says this is impossible." she jokes. Knowing that this place had no logic obviously meant it's gotta be a dream, but nope. she has not found this out. This area was illuminated by the shrubbery filed about the current field of plants. It's color shined a bright neon yellow, covering her and the trees in a soft bask of yellow goodness. A lake close by had neon green lotus flowers flowing by with the current, illuminating  the soft water with a tender green, almost yellow color. It was so peaceful, she couldn't help but feel like this place was slowing her down, and creating a warm flow of air that followed to her closing eyes, bringing forth sleep.

She awoke to a familiar ceiling. Her own. the dream was short lived, but that feeling of comfort in that place did not leave her. She felt like she was being held by her mother, like those times she'd had a bad dream, and she would come to her mother, wanting comfort and for someone to notice her. It felt, so...well, it's a feeling you can't explain if you haven't been hugged by your mother. she sighed, but not from any stress or tension, but from the comfort of that thought  in her head. Abruptly, a cold clammy hand reached out to her shoulder, and pulled her down. She looked to see the hand, but it was only darkness enveloping her shoulder. She screamed in horror, thinking maybe this is a dream as well, but the pain in her right shoulder told her, 'sorry buddy, but your being pulled into the depths of hell' and her screaming got louder. And then everything went dark.
