A Warm Feeling

She woke up to a clutter of soft clouds that must have broken her fall, and looked for any wounds on her body. None. "phew, I thought I was a goner. What is this, hell?" she says, while looking up curiously. Blue sky. "huh, hell has a blue sky. That's a new one." she whispers whilst getting up, grunting on the way up. She may not have hurt any bones or inner organs, but she was pretty sure she was gonna have a sore back tonight. The room looked more like a temple than anything, white pillars on all four corners of the room with a light blue tinted wall surrounding the small child. "Hey, i'm not small!!"
She realized that this was, in fact, quite real, And that she was somewhere pretty much gone from her original plane of existence. She inhales deeply.
"Well, ain't this just a delight..." she complains while internally screaming inside of her puny mind.
"Who are you calling puny?!"

In the corner, she saw what seemed to be a black baby sprig in the room. It was bent over, as if it was wilting. Only now did she realize the soft cry's coming from that direction. It was so quiet when she first came, and she felt no presence, so why was it now that she noticed a crying plant in the corner of a room? You'd think you would notice that, a crying, whimpering plant. But apparently not. She carefully stepped closer to the tree, knowing full well of the consequences this could bring, but we go in anyway. The tree looked up to her, showing a....face? Not creepy at all. It's eyes were bloodshot, and it looked like it was begging for some well needed rest. It's body was limp, showing it's need for some food and water. She didn't have much, but, she remembered the giant brand named candy bar she had gotten from her friend, and decided that maybe now is a good time to use it. She searched her pocket, grasping for the chocolate, and broke it in half to give to the....plant. It looked at her in surprise and slight tendrils of fear. Getting a closer look at it, you could see some of it's limbs half broken on the left side of it's face. It seemed that it was scared of her presence, so it shrinked back, in fear of being hurt. She hesitated, but insisted the chocolate bar. It looked at the bar, and it's face lit up, however much a crying plant could, and took the bar. Had it not had any food since it came here? It seemed so frail. So close to death, you couldn't help feeling sorry for it. *Chomp chomp*. 'Man, he's really going at it'. *Crinkle*. 'And he's even eating the wrapper' she thought. "Oh shiz, he's eating the wrapper!" she yelled, and quickly took the plastic from the plants mouth. "Dude, plastics not edible. You know that right?" she asked. All he did was look up at her in confusion. "Look, buddy, your the only living thing in here other than my crippled soul, so you've gotta know a way out of here, right?" she questioned. It only nodded, and took her by the leg and dragged her towards a door in the room. " You know, for a plant, your pretty strong. I mean after all the food I ate yesterday, I don't think I would be light." she joked, Whilst being dragged by a tree. she noticed that the walls of the building were slowly deteriorating and it seemed so lonely. Every hall they passed and puzzle they solved, the place looked like nobody lived here. To say it was creepy was an understatement. It was downright unnerving. But, with enough life experience in living alone, you kinda get used to it.

Somewhere along the line, they were brought into a house, quite a cozy one, and stopped for a bit. She was kind of out of it, when precipitously, a pie was shoved in her face. "um, thanks" she said, while picking up the plate to eat it. "there's uh, no fork. I kinda nee-" she was cut off by a fork being shoved in her face by a plant root, that nearly freaked the her out. "...thankkssss..." she says, while getting up to sit properly. "You know, I never thought I would be sitting here having pie with a tree, but yet i'm here anyway." she spoke aloud. For the first time, the weird tree spoke, it sounded like a messed up squeaky toy, "yeah, well, i never thought another human would fall down here and give me food, but yet that happened." it said. "touche, plant." she says. "Black fir", "huh?", "call me black fir, it's what everybody else calls me.", "oh, okay. Um, nice to meet you, uh black fir." she murmured. There was silence. 'oh gosh, it's awkward. what do i say?'. "um, why were you crying back there?" she asked bluntly. 'Good job, you just messed it all up'. "No reason. Don't get in other's business" "I was just asking..."she said back. "I...i'm sorry, i just don't talk much with people these days", "not like i can" it mumbles.

"Huh?" she said, "Nothing! don't...worry about it..." ,"okay". she ate the pie, it was delicious! 'He's actually a pretty amazing cook...for a plant.'she thought. Unexpectedly, a creature taller than her had come creeping through the hallway of the house. Now the more she looked at the house, the more broken down it looked. The entrance way was covered in dust and spider webs, (with papers of a bake sale on it, mind you) like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Greenery were already making their way inside the building, taking over parts of the walls, turning into a green striped-white wallpaper around the rooms. Over by the hallway were the creature was, were three rooms, the door too the first one was open and swinging off it's hinges, trying too collapse. The kitchen was like every normal kitchen. Surprisingly it was the most taken care of in the house. She did not know what was down those stairs in the entrance way yet though. She noticed the creature in the hallway creeping closer. It had horns and pointy ears, but that was all she could make out. The house was very dark. As the personage grew closer, she saw Black Fir behind her shaking. When the individual came more into the light, she noticed some details about them. It wore a white-tan, turtleneck sweater with some tight jeans. a cold grey color covered they'er fur. Everything about it looked like a statue. It walked toward her, but not threateningly, towering over her with still eyes, as if watching to see if she will run. As the idiot she was, she decided to wave at it, not thinking for her life. "Hi there, tall statue". Its face softened and picked her up prancing around, its stone face turning into a smile. It twirled her around with amazing strength and played with her for a bit, like a little baby child. It then set her down and shook her hand and spoke, "i'm sorry for that, my dear, but its been so long since iv'e met another person before! my name is Rayne, the monster in charge of this place, you must be confused, i'm sorry." Rayne rubs her neck nervously, "if you need anything, just ask me, ill set you too your own room!". "t-thanks, miss. Rayne" "oh, no need to be so formal, i'm fine with you just calling me Rayne." "alright thanks then, Rayne!" she says happily, "ohoho, no need, im happy too".

She entered the room Rayne had shown her and saw a room full of toys and stuffed animals. Strangely, this was the most clean room in the house. "Huh, i guess even stoned creatures in decrepit places are cool too" She says, checking all the stuffed toys. She particularly was fond of a cute little kitty in the bunch atop the bed, and decided it couldn't hurt to take it, with what millions were on the bed already. Staring at the bed she began to feel sleepy, slowly sinking inside the mattress then slowly, fell asleep. Dreaming comfortably in the bed, the world was changing before her, unrealizing of the horrid past of this tormented city of kind creatures...
