RIA'S POV

"Oh shit."

I quickly jumped out of my bed, grabbed a pillow and smacked Kat's face hard, making sure that it hurts.

"What the hell, girl?" Kat murmured as she looked at me, half awake. Squinting her eyes.

"Get up! Get up! Ma l-late name tayo!" I shouted as I dragged her body from her feet away from the bed.

"WHAT?! FIRST DAY NA BA NGAYON?! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP EARLIER!" she screamed at my face. Dang, her breath stinks. I'm pretty sure she's awake now.

"I would have if I could but I can't!" I answered back, letting go of her feet and running towards the bathroom, pulling my towel from the rack. "I'm going first, okay?"

"What?! Oh no you don't. You're going to take years to finish bathing!" she answered as I slammed the door shut.

"Too late bro. You better skip taking a bath. Go get ready na." I answered. I heard her groan. What a monster.

I finished taking a bath and when I exited the bathroom, she was ready to go.

"Faster Ria!" Kat said, panicking.

"I'm trying okaaay!" I pulled my uniform on and grabbed my wallet, a notebook and pen, my phone and the keys to my house, putting them inside a sling bag.

A clean long sleeved shirt. A short plaid red skirt. Long black knee high socks. Black shoes. Okay! I'm ready!

I was about to run but I remembered that I still wasn't wearing my neck tie. I digged in my closet and found it. I have no time to put in on. I just grabbed it by my hand and went straight to Kat.

"I bet you 300 pesos that I'll arrive to school first." I grinned at her and ran down the stairs towards the door. "Lock the door Kat!"

I ran from our front terrace towards the sidewalk, panting. I can't be late! It's the first day of school! I looked back to check how Kat was doing.

Look at her, she looks like a dying dog. I waved at her as I stick my tongue out.

I don't really know what the distance is from my school to my house, but I've been walking (err, running) to school my entire life since it wasn't that far. It probably takes me 30 minutes to arrive there. Maybe 15 if I'm running... and 5 if I had a ride. Too bad I don't... and that's the reason why I always get detention.

Okay, okay! Back to reality Ria! You're almost there!

I smiled at the sight of my school. There were students everywhere with unfamiliar faces. Smiles everywhere.
