The past few days have been horrible. The days have been the same and things have not gone well. The routine was the same. Wake up. Go to breakfast. Eat. Go to my room and sleep. Wake up. Eat Lunch. Go back to my room and sleep. Wake up. Go to supper. Eat. Go back to my room. Lay awake crying on my bed. Sam hasn't had sex with me since the first night.
Today would be the same. I started getting out of my bed. I got some clothes from the drawer. Soon enough I would have to do some laundry. I made me sick thinking about how I was getting used to my life style. I would have to plan my escape soon. Some of me wanted to stay. I had no reason to go. People were probably looking for me already. Surely. My eyes were still puffy. I stayed up all night last night crying. I started getting dressed and exited. Other girls were moping around like me.
I entered the cafeteria. "Hey love," Sam said. I sighed. Please leave me lonely. I turned around. He had a wide smile on his face. His brown blondish hair was combed onto the side. He reeked of dirt and a mixture of perfume. I wonder if he was with another girl. "I've missed your body," he continued, "I've had to work for burying bodies of girls who killed themselves." The bile rose up my throat. My body? Sick!
"Not now Sam," I tell him. He grabs my arse and pulls me closer. He smashes his lips against mine. I stand still. Everybody is probably watching us. His breath tastes of mint. He breaks the kiss. He releases me and goes to the food line. I go and get my food. I get eggs and potatoes. I sit next to a random group of old women. I really would stay here forever.
"Did you hear," a woman says to another lady, "the saviour rescued another last night." The others gasp. I can't help but listen in.
"What was that the seventh," another said.
"Yes," she replied.
"Who is the saviour?" I ask. I didn't mean to speak the words just came out. They look surprised. My stomach churns. Have I done something wrong?
"Why the saviour saves random girls and boys," she replies, "they are a big problem to Doom and she gets really furious about it. I wish the saviour could save us all. The saviour is unknown. Nobody has seen the saviour." She concludes factually.
The bell for breakfast ending rings. I want to ask more but the ladies are gone. I walk back to my room. I can't sleep after what I just heard. What if the saviour came for me? That could be my plan b if my escape plan didn't work. With these thoughts in my head I fall asleep in my bed.
--
I awake to a knock on the door. I look at the time and realise that it is already 8:30 PM. I slept through the whole day. I would surely be punished. I get out of bed and open the door. Sam bursts through the door. He removes his clothing and I see that beautiful chest and stomach and skin.
"It's been a long day love," he says removing his pants. He is only wearing denim briefs now. He gets on my bed. I sit on my bed. He presses his lips against mine and removes my clothing. I am completely naked. Sam moans and his briefs are wet now. He removes his briefs. Not again.
--
Bang. Bang. I awake to the roof pounding. Dust powders the room and the roof rips apart. The camera in the corner breaks away. A girl with purple and blue highlights for hair enters the room. She wears a sweater and jeans. I open my mouth to scream. She shushes me and presses her fingers against my lips. Sam stirs but doesn't wake. He must be a heavy sleeper.
"Quiet," she says, "I am Annika. People call me the saviour. I am here to save you from here." I gasp in fright. I am leaving? I nod. She hooks a rope around me and she tugs on the rope. I am flying into the air. This must be a dream. I am lifted onto the roof. Annika follows me and she looks down. I look too. There is a black truck and I see the bed of the truck has a mattress and pillows.
"Jump," she exclaims. She jumps and lands perfectly in the bed of the truck. I run and jump after her. I lay on the mattress. She hops into the front and starts the truck. It revs and the dashboard and lights light up. She drives. As we grow farther from the building I relax into the comfort of the blankets.
"So," I start, "where are we going?"
"To headquarters," she says.
"Where's that at?"
"Far from here."
I couldn't believe it. I was leaving that crazy place filled with sickos. Sam would never touch me again. I felt bad for the others who were left there. They would have to stay there and rot.
"What about the others," I ask, "they need saving too."
"There is only one saviour for that place. There is too many girls for one to save all." She was lying. I could tell.
My eyes felt heavy. I started to fall asleep as the mattress devoured me. I was out of there. I was still amazed. I would have my normal life back. I would get home and go back to normal. But wait. If there is too many girls to save at once then why not tell the police about where they are all at.
"Why not tell the authorities?" She seemed dumbstruck. I got her. There was no escape to this easy solution.
"I am sorry Kaylie. You seem very smart and most girls didn't find this out until we got to headquarters."
"What do you mean?"
"You see, I am not saving you but stealing you."
"What!?"
"You're no longer in the hands of Doom, but in the hands of the Saviours." She was just as bad as Doom and her men.
"NO!" It was too late. Annika slammed the breaks and my face slammed against the glass. I was knocked out.
