The next day, Thomas received a letter from Yale. He waited for Charlotte to arrive before he opened it. They both held in their breaths as he split open the envelope. He read it quickly, and immediately grabbed Charlotte and spun her around. Charlotte laughed.

"I'm guessing you got it?"

"Yes, I did," he said with the biggest smile on his face.

It was the event of the year--graduation. Charlotte's parents and Nina had come, and Charlotte could see Lola sitting next to whom she guessed was Thomas's father.

Charlotte, valedictorian of her class, was just at the end of her speech. "We all go our separate ways now. Every ending is a new beginning, and therefore, let us begin a new era of our lives by ending this one. Let us say, to the class of 2016!"

Everyone clapped and cheered. Charlotte ran down the stage to join in the throwing of the caps.

"One, two, three!" Thomas called out, and they both threw their caps into the clear, blue sky at the same time.

Charlotte heart was filled with joy. She had found a music school quite close to Yale, so that she and Thomas can live together. As Charlotte looked into Thomas's eyes, and he into hers, she knew that he was the best thing that had ever happened to her. She kissed him with all her might, and as all the caps fell back down to the floor, Charlotte knew there was no place she'd rather be to begin a new era with the one she loved.
